So one interesting thing I have found out in my research on this is O-Rings for keycaps. Apparently they're little rubber rings that you can insert inside your keycaps that dampen there sound. They come in different colors and softness, though I'm not super clear on the differences as I have never tried any of them to know the difference.

I would like to make my new keyboard a little quieter though, while I am growing the like the feel of the mechanical keys slowly (Still getting used to the jump from short keycaps of membrane boards) they are loud. This can be problematic when I am doing audio recordings as it's difficult to type quietly. I suppose you can just press lightly or not burry the key...

But I like to bury the keys.

So does anyone have any experience with these things? Would you recommend one over another?

Also check this out, someone actually makes metal keycaps, how drool worthy is that?

  4. I really want to buy a complete set of white key's to match my new white Razer setup, getting ready for the new Chroma.

Custom key caps would be pretty cool on my Blackwidow Ultimate...imagine the possibilities. As others have said, referring to Linus' video will be very helpful.

I made my own thread because I didn't see this XD

So I have a blackwidow chroma and its bothering the crap out of me that there is no back lighting for the function key. So I wanted to get a custom key cap for it. I looked and I found there was the Razer Keycap Keychain. and they dont sell it in the razer store (as you all know) and I looked for one and ebay and nothing. (and I seem to have missed the giveway from @Razer|Technokat ) Im not even sure if that cap is usable or not. So one question I had is, Would this work to replace a keycap? and also @allbricks where did you find on WASDKeyboards to make custom keys? or did you order a full set? and last thing Im new to having a mech keyboard I saw there are different size keys is there a map of some sort to tell you what size the keys are like the macro keys.

I'll see your function key and raise you the special characters on the number (and a few other keys). Working in the dark on occasion (made easier by the backlighting on this awesome keyboard) has demonstrated that I really don't know where the !@#$%^&*(), etc symbols are without looking. I really wish Razer had made these visible with the backlighting but if anyone has come across replacement keycaps for these, please let me know.
I'd also like to see Razer put out some custom keycaps with their insignia, logo, etc - I'd pony up for that.

Great thread here! I'm looking for a couple replacement keycaps for my Razer Black Widow Tournament Stealth but my concern is with the sizing. I got the stealth to use for work so it's being used exclusively on a mac and I thought it would be cool to replace the alt keys with command keys and the windows key with an option key. The bottom row keys appear to have non-standard sizing and everywhere find sells standard sized keycaps to fit on Cherry MX switches. The new Razer switches are very similar but still different and I don't want to buy keycaps that I just have to throw away.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm of course referring to the 2014 edition keyboard.

yea that fn key really gets me too, but there is no led in that switch so you cant just swap the keycap out :slightly_sad: ?. This is same size as fn key ? link

  13. You can get keycap replacements from websites that sell Cherry MX keycap compatible ones. be aware the space bar row of keys is not part of the ANSI keycap row.

After seeing this thread... razer should look at having a custom set of key caps as a replacement option. Bright green!

i just hope for a protection film or silicon cover for the black widow cuz i have sweaty hands.
  18. Try WASDKeyboards, they are like the place to go if you want something custom. I've shopped from the site before. You can also see what other people have ordered to give you ideas on their site.

On my Blackwidow Chroma Stealth is the same size as the regular square letter keys, you can pick it out in the phones on the RazerZone store here:
    Blackwidow Chroma Stealth store page

Though, as a random sidenote, I'm still using an MSI laptop, and the windows key on there is also the same square size as my letter keys, however, it is on the opposite side of the spacebar from where it is on my Razer keyboards.

You'll find all you need searching through these websites. You can get blank keycaps so you can modify it yourself, or get custom ones done. These websites sells everything related to mech-keyboards.

Note: Spacebar row for ANY Razer Blackwidow is 1x6 (this is in terms of 1 keycap by 6 keycaps). Direct link for buying full replacement set & display.
