i was thinking about purchasing the razer phone on the three network, here in the UK.
theres quite a good deal on a 24 month contract at the moment.

after reading through this forum, im quite concerned about build quality. it seems like a lot of people are having issues.

would owners of the phone recommend it or should i go elsewhere?
the oneplus 5t has also caught my eye.

It depends on how you use it, camera maybe better on new flagship phone the touchscreen responsiveness on typing also better on IPhone X, but for entertainment and gaming it blows other phone. About build you mean QA things? I feel it’s toughest phone compare other phone, it’s like Blade laptops shell. If you meant QA I don’t know why poeple having issues with it, mine is fine. But I own it only for three days, mostly I want play games on it if I take it to my hands, it well design for that, sound quality on calling or listening is also better than my old iPhone.

Perhaps you read the posts in this forum, and then decide for yourself.

i have no interest in cameras on phones. i mainly use my phone in a car due to my job. texting, browsing, youtube, and podcasts through the phones speakers rather than headphones. and casual gaming. up to 10 hours per day. and for several hours of bluetooth streaming to a speaker when at home.

the screen/speaker quality of the razer phone and battery life, really appeal to me for my uses.

it's just that looking through this forum, there seems to be an awful lot of people having problems with their phones.

i have no intention of ever buying an apple product again. perfectly happy with android.

Texting is better on iOS, idk on other smartphone, maybe because I already used to its interface. I've Bluetooth speaker and I don't think I will use it anymore, I compared it with S9 new speaker, it still like day and night difference. Gaming experience is the best on Razer phone, nice grip, sound, and with only default setting (90hz) I feel like it already smoother than my switch despite the supported games and AAA titles on switch but i don't think I'll have to bring my switch again on go. At first unboxing the battery was under 50%, and I had problem emptying it with browsing and gaming I think it was almost 6 hours to emptying it ( I always emptying my battery device before using). I bought from Amazon, so if I have issue I'll just return it, but if there's any I think I'll give other chance to Razer phone, because on day 4 I'm already not using iPhone anymore (I was thinking it as secondary phone beside my iPhone, considering those issues i heard, but I kind feel it could already replace it since I don't have any issue atm)
  6. May I suggest you look at the OnePlus 5T, HTC U11 Plus or perhaps even look at Chinese options from Xiaomi?

Value-wise this phone isn't really up there with the big guns, despite packing a similar price to them.

I've not managed to go 5months with it and now want to replace it:

--noticeable "grid" visible on the display in bright light. You may see this and think it's a fault... it's not
--some games really do not play nice with the 120Hz display setting
--very poor Android development scene - this may not be your thing, but it is for me and development is rock bottom
--the speaker grills get dust/dirt in them VERY easily
--the camera, for the price of this phone, is absolutely shocking. The Mi5 I used to have was much better. Even the OnePlus 3 which was known for having a poor camera isn't much worse than this

Just trust me on this one. 120Hz and dual speakers are very nice. The rest of the package is a bit of a disappointment sadly.

thank you for the reply. i've had my eye on the op5t also. the problem is theres just so many phones to choose from.
im looking for a phone thats good for watching media, with loud speakers(for when im driving) and good battery life. thats why the razer phone seemed like a good option.

  8. The phone is great for watching media, as a result of having a large screen and dual powerful speakers. It's as long as the shortcomings elsewhere don't creep in enough to annoy you, you'll be fine.

The screen can be very dim in bright light, even with the brightness setting cranked to max! Battery life should be amazing, but even with 4000mAh battery, it still doesn't seem to be much better than some of the competition (check out Techradar's review).

my phones are tax deductible through my job, so price isnt really an issue for me. im just looking for the best android experience.
besides, the razor deal available in the UK at the moment, is very reasonable - £30 month for phone with 100gb data, unlimited minutes/texts, over 24 month contract.
although i only really need about 12gb data to be honest.

the dim screen could be an issue in the summer months. my current phone (moto g3) usually has it screen set to max brightness on sunny days. and its battery life and loudness are very inadequate. i often have to charge the phone twice a day and use earphones when driving.

If you're looking at all around phone and development things (idk about Android's phone), I'm agree with you it's not the best phone for the price, but for me as entertainment phone it worth the extra money and it still doesn't have competitors, even experia phone, it just feels like other cheaper Android's phone for me as 8 years iPhone user, with sound quality on phone talking, speaker, cnc aluminum body, unique design etc it could cover the weakness from no water resistant, bad camera?(I think it's not bad at all as "phone" camera), not optimized 120hz? (I never change the default setting, 1440p 90Hz, it's already enjoyable experience for a phone, 120hz could you feel the optimizing on PC gaming not on phone).

I would go for other phones like samsung or oneplus5t if you want to use it for chilling in car and daily use.
Razer phone outperforms other phones on gaming and kinda on music.(Annoying buzz noises on headphones)

But it's a pain to use since it's not optimized well. I use my razer phone in the car and it works yeah but the reduced brightness lessens the experience of the YouTube videos and the TomTom app.
Also the battery drains very fast so it's not really handy for long drives unless you bring a charger with you.

Razer Phone is great for expirienced gamers but average phone user will have some difficulties using it.

thank you for your opinion of the phone. it really is a shame about the screen brightness.
i will probably go for the 5t. i seem to hear nothing but praise for the phone.

ended up getting the new sony experia xz2. the free ps4 swayed me :big_grin_:
maybe a razer phone next time.

If you are hesitant about its price, I suggest you do not buy it. This phone is not suitable for talking about price/performance. If you need a cheap and powerful mobile phone, the brand from China is your best choice (OnePlus and Xiaomi). I do not say this because I am Chinese, but because I understand brands from China. I didn't buy their products but the reason I purchased Razer was simply because Razer had a cool appearance (from robin). This is the best cell phone I’ve seen in 2017, not just performance, but also its appearance. When I saw the screen of IPhonex, I knew that many of China's native mobile phones in 2018 would copy its appearance, so I decided to buy Razer. This decision does not make me regret it, although now because of the 8.1 system bug (I guess), my Razer has lost the function as a mobile phone (make phone calls). I don't know if you made a decision when I wrote this, and I hope I can help you.

I have owned Samsung's, Xiaomnis, Motorolas, and the Razer phone.

Razer is by far the worst.

There is a grid you can see on the screen on any high brightness which makes it look like crap.

You can't see the phone if it's sunny outside (I thought people were being dramatic. There not).

120hz screen is okay but not noticeable on %99 of apps and programs.

    Camera sucks.

Fingerprint reader used to work then software updates broke it so it almost never reads my finger anymore.

Not really any their party support for simple things as accessories and cases. Not a single good rugged case out.

Speaking of support... Razer doesn't support their phone.
Noticed you said you want to use for BT. My BT has been broken since May 5th and I have had an open case since then which they haven't provided any fixes or support on.

Razer also doesn't offer phone support only "live chat". All of their other product have live phone support including $40 dollar Microsoft and such.

When the phone works I can't normally forgive the brightness of the screen it's fine indoor.
Speakers are loud and sound great.
Battery life is amazing (on my phone)
Phone's screen never gets too hot to touch like most Samsung's.

I would of spent $200-300 on this and still be unhappy.
I would recommend you purchase a phone from a reputable phone manufacturer that has tech support and has the technical knowledge to handle a warranty as Razer does not.
Samsung, Hawaii, and Xiaomni are all great choices but I would suggest you check reviews as the specs on the Razer phone are good but build quality is so inconsistent that you will probably get stuck with a lemon or like me and the many others receive a "security update" that breaks an essential feature of the phone such as BT.
