    My specs:

    FHD
    Samsung mzvlv512hcjh

This are my results out of the box, after updates and reinstalling Killer Drivers from Razer - no OC or under-nothing:

    Firestrike

Now what's important: I haven't gamed yet, but I opened Fallout 4 on ultra and it was a breeze. Reaaaally nice performance for the 5 mins I walked around the wasteland. I will update with Battlefield 1 tonight.

You can watch all the tests in this video on YouTube.

Am I impressed? CPU - big yes. GPU - big hell no. I assume there is still room for improvement.

In case you are curious, NO, there wasn't anyone using a vacuum cleaner on teh background :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Nice fan performance, it shut immediately down right after benchmark stopped. I am now at 100% to get Kabylake model, thanks!
Now Razer please bring earlier the UHD one!

What a bummer that they are shipping with the PM951 still and not the newer PM961, considering the price increase. Kabylake does show a decent CPU performance boost over skylake though.

I havent change anything yet. Hell I wasnt even able to log into synapse due to the amazon web service problem from today. Is that or it was too coincidental.

I can't tell if its that loud because of where the camera was or if its actually that loud. I had the Balde pro and it literally sounded like a jet taking off in my face and that was one of the main reasons to return it. Also is this the 1920x1080 or UHD (idk if FHD was a typo) I plan to get the HD model when my credit comes back in but if its just as loud as the blade pro i might hold off for alittle. With the Pro it was almost expected since its running 4k on a GTX 1080. So any info you can give me would be awsome.

    Hey @Frankdehtank !

So let me re-cap a bit my story with razer.... I tried the Sky Lake model, and it was a disaster, I was SUPER disappointed due to the CPU issues ... etc...

Now, I just tried playing Fallout 4 and Battlefield 1, all maxed out, as if I was using my Kably Lake GS63VR. The machine can take it just fine, 60 FPS solid sharp with v-sync... everything is awesome.

Having said that, YES, this machine is LOUD as hell... if you are playing with headphones, you are ok... if you have your volume 80% + you are ok.. otherwise, the fans are incredibly loud. A big difference from the previous model though, is that on windows, fans are NOT working all the time, at all, they rarely do except you are hitting the processor with something work cooling. So during regular use, you won't hear the fans, nada, 0.

So is this the UHD or HD model. I would assume the fans wouldn't have to work as hard on the HD model.

Edit: Im dumb when you say FHD you mean HD. Hmm i wonder why its so loud if you dont really have to power to much.

Is the UHD model already shipping? I checked the US site and it says "notify me", where the Australian site only shows the FHD model for sale!

1 hr of battlefield. As opposed to the Sky Lake model, this one works.

Not yet. Same here in EU site, "notify me". Some websites said it will be around Q2. I hope they are preparing some extra new features besides UHD screen, CPU, and RAM, maybe controllable chroma logo or higher monitor refresh rate.

I'm currently doing benchmarks comparing Skylake Blade to Kaby Blade and I'm shocked/bewildered.

While 3DMark scores are close and within a few FPS (like 2 on some tests) in real-world gaming it's night and day. So much so I'm going over these scores/testing over and over again.

Case in point and the most extreme is DOOM on OpenGL set to Ultra using FRAPS for 2 mins.

    Kaby: Average FPS = 86-92
Skylake: Average FPS = 44-49 FPS

Gears of War 4 is similar with 71 FPS on Kaby when set to Ultra and just 51 FPS on Skylake at the exact same settings. There also a difference, less so, with Rise of the Tomb Raider (68 FPS vs 57). Both Gears and ROTR tested using in-game benching.

Anyone here can add/verify those? I realize the Kaby chip is clocked higher especially on Turbo (3.2 vs 3.8GHz), but damn.

    TIA

  18. Wow the fans are noisy, but how about normal usage not gaming does it make that sound ?

And how about the battery life is there any improvement comparing to last gen ?

I just ordered mine but too curious to know how it performs

Re: Fans, they are completely off AFAICT when idle or just using Windows 10/Store apps. Night/day difference. During gaming, all bets are off both still get loud ;) But yeah that was "Fixed" with this refresh. Vastly different.

For Battery it's better too. I did one "run down" test in PCMark. Skylake took 2hours at full CPU to run down during Home Accelerated w/OpenCL. Kaby took 3h 18 mins.

Again, I''m doing double takes on those. Drastic difference.

I am at home doing work but took a 5 minute Doom break just to try this, haha. Using my Skylake Blade I'm getting twice your FPS in Doom at OpenGL ultra settings. Ranged from 80 to 100. Lowest I saw was 75 FPS and that was as I was dying. Something must be up with your Blade if performance is that bad? I'm still at the beginning (2nd or 3rd stage) because I suck, but my FPS have never gone below 60 since I applied the EC fix. Awaiting delivery of a 3rd Kaby Blade, I'll do side by side as well.
