This had to happen! Does this have tripod mounting if I decided to use it for video filming with tripod?

Will be interested in seeing this in action. Will be great if noise cancelling works with the seiren for better audio.

Hopefully it does. It seems that, based on the design, it is a direct competition to the Logitech C920. That one can be mounted on a tripod, so hopefully the Stargazer can be mounted on one as well.

This camera looks amazing! I love the appearance, and the way it was built at an angle that helps streamers get a good picture of their face!

did you get this from ltt's seiren review? "What's next, webcams? Actually, I better not give them any ideas"

Any updates on this? It was supposed to be released in Q2, but now it says Q3 on the website. The fact that Creative has released theirs makes me think there's a problem with Intel's RealSense technology.

So the 3D feature only works if you have a 3D monitor?

Wondering how this stacks against Logitech's cameras.
  15. Has this product been delayed? I am considering getting an Intel developer camera, because as far I can tell it is the only webcam available with RealSense at this point. Would really like to hear if there is a modified release date, so that I can feel more confident in my decision to wait or not.

Really love the solid design, but is it as good as the Logitech C930e Webcam?

Does this still not have pricing available yet? I don't see anything about it.
  18. It seems like a lot of people are trying to compare this to the Logitech cameras and more specifically to the Logitech C920. I don't think this camera is trying to compete with any Logitech camera and you guys are really missing the point.

This camera uses Intel's RealSense technology, which is somewhat like the Kinect. This is the only as of yet announced webcam which uses this technology, which kind of means that it isn't in direct competition with any other webcam. A more fair comparison would be to the Intel SR300 developer Kit using their RealSense technology, but that's not really meant to be a consumer product.

One of the many things this should allow for broadcasters is dynamic background removal without the need for a green screen and chroma key settings. So to directly to compare this to a Logitech anything makes no sense as they simply can't do that. It could also be used to scan in a 3D model of your face, react to gestures, and log you in without a password, all things that no Logitech camera is going to do.

Beyond that as far as how does it work as a basic camera, from what I have seen from the specs released it seems to match the C920 and SR300 in the specs we have been given: 1080p@30fps or 720p@60fps. If you are more interested in the general lens/sensor quality there are reviews all over YouTube which apparently means they've had prototype versions since January.

A couple people also asked about price as well, and everything I've heard has said $200. Which makes sense as this things seem to be basically a Razer branded Intel (Creative really) SR300 anyhow which you can get for $130... which is probably fair given the Razer markup, support, software, etc.

The real question is why were there prototypes available to reviewers in Q1, with a target release date of Q2, with that date being moved to Q3, with Q3 being all but over with no word of release. Is the product defunct? Is something wrong with the tech? Are they waiting for some new revision of the Creative SR300. What's the deal?

All I really want this thing for is the background removal and Razer logo really and it is holding up other purchases. If anyone knows where I can buy a prototype feel free to let me know as this is holding up other purchases for a new system and stressing me out.

Attached is a picture of my closet full of Razer gear for a new Razer themed gaming/broadcasting build so far. Just waiting for this camera (if possible) and the rest of the non Razer components.
