Many of us have experienced that wall that we hit when the game we love to play most starts to feel the pain of running on an older machine. Sometimes by way of a new patch or the system being on its last legs, the game we love spending our time on starts to feel like punishment.

For this week's Thread of the Week, imagine you're receiving a brand spankin' new Blade. What game are you getting it for and how bad was it before?

Like and comment to this thread for a chance to win the weekly "Great" achievement. Two more crafty responses will receive the repeatable "Nice" achievement.

For a very aged game call "Fairyland", launched in 2003 by Taiwan. It is my first online game but it is not compatible with the modern setting. i.e. Win10. In which, it works fine with win 7 or below.

Nor it was a cap in 21fps... I really hope this game to be updated that we do not have to downgrade all our expensive, powerful pc in order to play it.

Runescape is doing a great job to maintain moderation. But the graphics are still very "old school"...

At least that all my friends said, they don't even want to try this game.

Dude! CyberPunk 2077, Need I say more?

That game is so amazing and brilliant story line - it just has so much potential; but if you're on a potato you can't play it! I just struggled to really immerse myself into it but reckon on a nice 4k display with proper RayTracing, that game would look stunning!

Dragon Age origins.I was lucky i was able to play this game on release when EA and Bioware care about delivering a good story driven game with a fresh gameplay tactical-rpg, despite my laptop trying its best to perform.Im looking forward for Dragon Age 4 but im still hoping for a remaster version of Origins

Say no more ! GTA San Andreas really needs to be upgraded just like GTA V. I really miss to play GTA San Andreas. Hope that the developer make a remaster version with online mode :hearts:

Hmmm i think most of the games had already got one, but i'm in love with the Tomb Raider series. I'd love to see more games with Lara. Great work.

    Hello Friends,

Like many here, I would answer Cyberpunk 2077 to take advantage of Ray Tracing and to be able to put ultra quality as well as massive crowd.

But I also have another very greedy game "Star Citizen", it uses revolutionary new technology, with ships so big that we can pilot in a guild a bit like "Entreprise" of Star trek as well as many another more modest vessel, a single-seat fighter.

I really love this game because you can have a non-violent career (nurse, mechanic, bartender, recuperator, journalist etc.) to help these fighting friends. :)

I sure do miss those games. The Remaster was nice but didn't satisfy fully. I want a nice remasters of Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2. (inb4 someone comments the various fan engine mods)

Though I see 2 lines of thought formed in the answers here....

Type 1: An older game that is now getting harder to play due to advancing tech and the game not being able to work due to compatibility. Thus the game needs an update.

Type 2:A newer game that people can't quite run fully with their current set up but should run much much better with an update of their system to the new Blade.

I think Type 2 is what the Thread Starter was looking for. lol
That for me is harder to say now because I upgraded from a meh laptop to a decent desktop build complete with a 3060Ti. So honestly no Type 2 game problems currently. But oh boy were there many before this....just flat out being able to play new titles is nice.

I want to play Cyberpunk 2077, but I lack the funds to buy a new PC.

Hm i saw a video yesterday with Max Payne gameplay and i thought how sick would be for us to get another game and why not even a remastered one with the same awesome story? Another game that i grew up with and i'd like to see more from it was Freedom Fighters, an old one but i love it.

I would definitely go for RDR2 and Cyberpunk 2077 as most of the folks here chose. Both games will be absolutely stunning on a high end Blade with maxed out settings.
I can imagine how crazy breathtaking both will look on the machine. Wow!
