There's this old meme. It shows a photo of a woman on a couch, looking at the camera with a stoic face. Behind her on the same couch is a guy, who we assume she's in a relationship with. Below the photo it has a diary entry from her where she discusses her internal struggle with trying to connect with her man, who in the photo, so cleverly composed, is seated in the opposite corner, strategically symbolizing the conflict and distance in their relationship. I'm pretty sure it's a stock photo, but it does a great job expressing the disconnect, lack of love and attention this woman is experiencing. After her vulnerable, soul crushing entry, the meme proceeds to start his entry, which is explaining exactly what is going through his mind. Now, I know this meme is a bit dated, #2019 #woke. However, this meme has stuck with me over the years because it 100% happened to me. At least with a video game. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Here's the meme: In my case, my girlfriend at the time (bless her heart), kept asking me what was wrong and I felt so stupid for being so emotionally and mentally consumed by the game so I kept telling her, "nothing. I'm fine," which we know is triggering in ANY relationship, until eventually we got into a full blown fight and I finally told her. "Water Temple, can't f*cking figure it out." * * * Insiders, what game had you so bamboozled it ate away at your soul? This is the Thread of the Week, let's hear your stories!
Reminds me of this scene from a movie. Not going to translate it, but yeah, it's precisely what's going on in this post.
Haha @FrozenFireVR i understood, but the others might not as its in Tamil and it does not have the subtitles in english. So you might want to add one with subtitles. Cheers!
Get her a switch and play smash together, I have found that game to be a great ice breaker for socializing with random people.
Haha, for me my lady comes in asking for a help and realizes i have my headphones while gaming and is without any senses for what's going on in the real world. She shouts and gives me a stare standing right next to me and the monitor
Hahaha, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that this thread has derailed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Either that, y'all are pros and never get stuck on a game. Note to self: git gud.
it took me a long time to get a nephew to try out Ocarina Of Time and to get off minecraft/roblox. The Water Temple scarred the poor kid for life, and he has since vowed never ever to touch a game cartridge nor a console, ever again /theylivednotsohappilyeverafter
