    I've only used Linux in enterprise environments so my experience with Linux on a laptop is close to none. So out of curiosity, what flaver do you use?

    I have used Arch in the past, and it was awesome, but after some time I found it was just too much to keep up with.
    Now I run just normal Ubuntu, or Ubuntu Gnome. They are both stable and require minimal setup. Kubuntu is pretty great too. However, if you are really looking for that bleeding edge, and don't want to deal with Arch, I highly recommend checking out Manjaro. Hope this helps. :)

    I've tried Ubuntu, Mint, and Arch, briefly, but I've recently been pretty happy running Gnome.

    Used to run all kinds of Ubuntu flavours, had Linux Mint in the past, also had Manjaro for a while. After a lot of distro hopping I ended up with Arch Linux, we'll see where it goes from here.

    In that family, I'm partial to Mint (with Cinnamon or Xfce).

    Kind of telling how the Mint team navigated toward Debian-rolling from stock Ubuntu for its upstream.
    (I think they still support both.)

    Although the landscape may start to look different now that Canonical is *finally* giving up on Unity.
    Good riddance! (-;

    Debian (CLI only) for server purposes.
    Linux Mint for desktops. I like Mint for a nice UI (Cinnamon looks great), and it's heavily configurable. I've been using Ubuntu, but from release, to release it becomes worse every time... and Unity GUI was a misunderstanding for me.
