The main difference is the Pro V2 is a 3.5mm headset while the 7.1 v2 uses a USB connection. The 7.1 also has RGB lighting and a digital microphone while the Pro V2 has no lighting and a standard analogue microphone.

Audio and microphone quality should be slightly better on the 7.1 V2 due to it running on its own built in DAC but one major con for me is it lacks inline volume control while the Pro V2 has it. The main selling point of the 7.1 V2 is the configurable surround sound available through Razer Synapse. I personally dislike surround sound and only use my headphones/headsets in stereo mode.

The Pro V2 is also a more versatile headset with the 3.5mm connection as you can use it on your phone, Xbox One controller, PS4, PC etc... while the 7.1 V2 is limited in connectivity due to it being USB only.

As for which one is better, it's up to you. If you're only going to use them on PC, you're probably better off with the 7.1 V2 due to the slightly better microphone and audio. If you want in line volume controls, a little more comfortable(due to less weight), and more versatility with your other devices, get the Pro V2.

I was looking to use my USD20 discount voucher to buy a headset. My candidate was the Overwatch ManO'War TE, Kraken Pro V2, and Kraken 7.1 V2.

Searched reviews on the OW MOW TE many saying that plastic material and headrest-speaker hinge breaks easily. That left me with the Kraken Pro V2 or the 7.1 V2.

Finally decided on the Kraken Pro V2 because I wanted the 3.5mm jack so that I can use it with my phones.

Sound-wise, bass a little weak and volume a little low, compared to a previous super-cheap head set (USD15). However, sound clarity is superb.

Couldn't say how the 7.1 performs, though. Sorry.

    Hope this helps.
