Hi guys, recently got my blade stealth and i love it! (no fan, build and charger problems too ;))

I bought the QHD variant and prior to buying i read the machine gets around 6 hours of use .But my machine i get around 4 hours usage before it dips to 20%. I mainly use 1-3tabs on chrome and watch 1080p movies using Media player. So im curious to know, how are you guys battery life like on your stealth? Any tips to increase battery life?

Don't own one but from what I've read you can alter power settings, screen brightness, keyboard lighting etc to squeeze more juice out of the battery.

This, and also set your power to balanced, and enable power saver mode. I have the 4k, and last night was probably the first time that I used my Stealth till it died in one sitting. I was browsing the internet and watching 1080p videos on YouTube, but I got just about 4.5-5 hours. Having the UHD you should be able to get about 6 out of the same use.

Hey thanks for replying,I made my own powerplan very similiar to the balanced atm- should i enable power saver at all times?

I usually use power saver whenever I can. I can deal with the low brightness all day. I haven't noticed any throttling when using it, but if your power plan works, then there is no need to use the power saver mode.

I am getting the 5-6 hours also under web browsing. Turning down the screen and using the power saver does add some time. I would not call this an all work day on one charge computer. Most days I do not kill the battery. So far, I have used the Stealth for watching YouTube and playing music at work. Hmmm, that would make it a 12" iPod. I will be doing more with it soon and I know that will kill the battery faster.

If I'm using UE4 and FL12 it will probably get about 4 hours. If I'm playing SC2 then I get around 2 hours lol so no, not an all day laptop, but it's one of the quickest laptops I've owned.
  8. Glad to see there are people who have stealth laptops without issues.

I try to be active in the community... too much vocal minority on these forums mentioning problems almost discouraged me from buying.

6.5 hours just surfing the web and 1 - 1.5 while gaming

It does draw attention though. I need to stop calling it the MacBook Black series for power users. Then again, I should also stop calling the MacBooks Safari-books also.

Hey you didn't mention what brightness you use the Stealth at. Quoted battery life is usually tested with 50% brightness. Seems like you will get 5 hours right now from full charge to complete depletion. With some screen, keyboard, and power settings, you should be able to reach near 6. One of my main criticisms about the Blade line is the battery life. Since this thing doesn't have an Nvidia GPU, I really expected more battery life. It is an ultrabook, after all.

Lol, if only. It's too bad it's not really for power users since it doesn't even have a discrete GPU. It's average in terms of ultrabook specs.

My only complaints are that I would like a quadcore CPU, discrete GPU, more RAM and a bigger screen. I guess that I will have to wait till the end of the month...
  14. @Brastic I hear you buddy. I've been contemplating for months whether to get the stealth or wait for the new blade 14. Now that it's almost here, I'm still unsure lol. I'm leaning more towards the 14 though, I have it preordered, because I hear so many bad stories about the stealth. It's a shame because I really like and would like to have a stealth.

I bought a Stealth for my wife last week and have been playing with it. I keep telling her that I am still, "setting it up" for her. I have not had the issues that some people have complained about. I have to say, that I really like it. I could easily see this being my only laptop.

What is funny is watching my dad play with the Stealth. Once my Blade arrives and get get the Blade and Stealth side by side, I am guessing that he is going to buy one them.
  16. Personally, I would prefer the stealth over the blade 14, and get the 14 next year with hopefully a better cpu/gpu/etc. upgrades. However, I already had a bad experience with the UHD stealth from the Microsoft store and after hearing so many complaints, I'm afraid to buy another.
I use to own a blade 14 2015 which I loved and only sold due to financial issues at the time. Either way, I definitely want one or the other, I just don't want to be in the same situation that many others are in.

**It's good to know that some people do have stealths that are working though.

!!! Guys ive found something interesting- try disabling your microphone and see if it improves your battery life!

To do this you can right click realtek, sound manager, click top microphone tab , click mute(next to the volume bar).
right click speakers , recording devices ,right click microphone ,properties, "levels" tab, click the speaker icon so it has a red cross lower right.

Let me know if it improved you guy's battery life:joy:
