I personally think the Switch is horribly underpowered (which isn't exactly a problem) but when it's own first party launch title dips below 30 regularly when docked you know you have a problem. The only way I'm going to get a switch is if:

    1. The price comes down
    2. They release a Switch Pro with better hardware, or maybe a dock with an eGPU in it.

Unlikely, but those are the only way I'm getting one.

I am assuming it is the standard edition at this point given that the switch is not up to snuff with the P4 and Xbone and they maxed the special edition to those platforms' specs as far as I can tell.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the old version as like you said the switch is underpowered. It's a tegra x1 chipset which is a stupid decision on nintendo's part. Should have been a pascel chipset.

This, the price has to come down a lot, not only console, games too. Having Zelda go below 30fps is unacceptable xD No way it should have been released like that.
In the end I'll play Mario kart/12switch only, so it wouldn't matter that much, but principally it is a bad release.

I didn't mostly because I wanted to see what the concencis was after the initial rush. So far I'm not super impressed, I mean I like it, but imma hold off for now.

A lot feel the way you do. For me the initial switch trailer nailed it for me but the switch presentation Nintendo had killed my interest. The lack of solid launch titles, and weird unnecessary tech use, along with under powered hardware have severely diminished my interest. On a plus side I heard rumors they will release a more powerful version or something to up the performance of the switch.

This is the article I'm referring to in terms of a more powerful version of the switch.

Feels like Nintendo has come up with a ruse to maximise profit. Well you can call it a "marketing plan".
    1) Make use of hype and fans of game series to get early purchases and justify higher prices
2)Release a system with "underpowered" hardware to justify a pricier, more powerful one, plus enticing users to upgrade
3)Introduce an bad ergonomic controller design to encourage the purchase of pro controllers(which totally kills portability)

I think it's a great device, but like many others I'm waiting for the price to go down a bit, or for that price it's at currently to at least include a game. $470 in Australia is more than any other console, and those all come with a game now. I'm sure in a few months we'll be seeing some better deals, and when the right one pops up I'll probably get it and enjoy the wider range of games available at that point and playing Zelda (and Skyrim) on the go :)

Wouldn't be supersized as Nintendo of japan has a habit of making weird decisions. more powerful hardware is a must after the wii u sales and marketing disaster. Also third party companies are going to need it to actually support the switch as there was claimed third party support fort the wii u but as we all know that was a lie as only ubisoft seemed to offer anything.

Preordered 1st day the orders went up, when everyone said it was going to be the "Wii U 2". Now im enjoying it as Nintendo struggles to restock.

I´ve preordered my Nintendo Switch on 28. February at Amazon and got it delivered on release date. Bought quickly 1-2-Switch and Zelda as Cardridge and played with the family.

One of the best decisions i have made because it is everywhere sold out :)

I didn't know really about WII U, but I bought Switch only to play Zelda now;) which is really amazing. Don't care about tegra 1,2 or 4K ability, it's a "Nintendo", for funny games. If I want something adult i play Nioh, Horizon zero dawn on PS4 or For Honor, resident evil on PC. Yes the price could be down but as it is Nintendo, they won't down crazy like PS4 which almost 1/2 price at Season sale, it will maybe a bit price down with 1 2 switch bundled together, but maybe in late summer. I think i am lucky to get it with normal price, and Zelda for 57€, plus 20€ discount from a giftcard (Mediamarkt...nobody know;))

  14. I'm hoping Nintendo will shift back toward some mature exclusives via thirdparty. The gamecube era was golden: remember Eternal Darkness? Resi 4 when it was GC only? I'm still convinced that the GC version is still the best... Wii was devoid of such games, WiiU similarly so. Although I did love HotD: Overkill on Wii :D I will always buy Nintendo in spite of pessimism, that's the 'Nintendo difference' for you!

I had Atari, Nintendo NES? when I was child, then I started with (PC) laptop game, PS3 WII, PS4. So I don't know a lot about GameCube, but Resident Evil is produced by Capcom, which is same roots with Nintendo, Japan. So I hope they will add their exclusive RE for Switch, I like their idea to brought Bayonetta 2 exclusive on WII U, and will be great if they bring also the third one to the Switch. I believe they already learned from WII U mistakes and put right direction on this device.
Yes PC has waaay better graphics, but in gaming all is not about graphic, i feel it by playing Zelda BOtW i hope Odyssee will have great gaming experience as well....looong wait;)

  17. Yes, I forgot about Bayo2 on WiiU, a worthy exception. A third, with trilogy package on Switch would be excellent. Bayonetta-on-the-go has me frothing already... must be possible for 720p60?

#Fanboyragebait :big_grin_: PC only nerds will never understand. I am of the broad church.

A question for Switch owners: have you experienced any wear and tear so far?
