Hey, I'm new to Razer. I've heard about their products for years, about since 2012 when they gave RoosterTeeth some materials. I have a friend who has the Overwatch Blackwidow Chroma Keyboard, but I don't know anyone who owns their headphones. I'm specifically looking at the Kraken 7.1 v2; this will be my first device that lights up and has surround sound, and I'm excited for it. Does anyone have any words of advice for how I should limit my expectations, or recommendations for better products?
Ive never personally used razer headphones. But gaming geared headphones in general seem to lack bass and quality for music. So if you want to listen to music and watch movies etc you may want to pick something else. Maybe someone who has them can confirm music quality on them?
Thanks for the heads up. Reviews have been very positive, lots of 8/10s and 4/5 stars. I just sometimes see the Amazon horror stories of broken devices or cords fraying after a month, and I start thinking about it too much.
Disregard the minority of complaints as those are the ones you'd hear the most. They're excellent headphones and I'm sure you'll love it. Are you purchasing them off the Razer Store?
Yeah, I got a nice discount with the Education program, and I wanted to get them straight from the source. Just a bummer that you can only use one code at a time.
They're really good headphones. The bass is really prominent if you like that sort of thing. One thing is the razer headphones have a tendincy to break.(maybe I just got a defective pair?) other than that they're great
Generally speaking people with problems will want to be heard and speak a lot louder than those who are actually busy enjoying their items. So, take complaints (about just about anything, really) with a grain of salt. Personally I own quite a few Razer headsets /earbuds / etc. Including the Hammerhead Pro V1, Hammerhead Pro V2, Tiamat 7.1, Adaro Stereo, Kraken Mobile, Leviathan, Leviathan Mini, Kraken Classic and Kraken Pro. Four of those I either gave to family members, but still have tested them out myself as well. I have not had any issues with any of my Razer sound devices and some of them have been going strong for quite a few years now. My original Hammerhead Pro V1's I bought probably 7 years ago and I've been using my Tiamat 7.1's for... uhh... 2-3 years now. I honestly have issues keeping track. lol If you find something that you feel looks like something you'd really enjoy, then I highly recommend going for it and giving it a fair chance, chances are high you'll love your purchase.
everything about Razer is good, but nothing last, i've change twice for the mouse. First one was razer naga, lasted for 3 years
The Kraken 7.1 V2 and Pro V2 should suffer from breaking in pieces because now they've a better build quality in terms of material. The most comment about the Razer Headphones I get is that they're very bass intense action games should be really enjoyable.
The overall build quality on the V1 edition was pretty poor and parts of it used to break easily, according to numerous complaints.
ah, is it better now? I used to have a Kraken mobile but the earcups really not my like. So, I gave it to my brother, not sure if it's still working
The V2 edition is definitely far more superior and better. A few features are better build quality (metal frame), larger audio drivers and bigger ear cups.
Back in the day there were more things wrong with Razer products, though that has seemed to been solved nowadays
