    Hi all,

My Razer Blade 2017 14" i7 7700HQ's fan keeps running on high setting even when I'm just browsing online. I have no other CPU/GPU intensive programs running. This started occurring after I had purchased and installed SolidWorks Premium yesterday.

Does someone have any idea? I'm freaking out because the laptop feels hot. Currently got the rear lifted off the desk to increase air flow.

Any help would be great guys.

    Regards,

    David.

Is this happening only when SolidWorks is running in the background?

I'm currently not running SW - I've forced closed all SW background applications and disabled them upon startup - and running youtube videos and the fans are running medium-high speed.

Should I run a test to check the number of running processes for before and after SW installation? Should I expect the fans to run less by having less software installed? Should it even make a difference?

    Me no know!

I would actually suggest doing that. Since you mentioned this started happening after you installed SolidWorks.

This actually seems odd since SW is not running. Anything else running in the background having a party?

Cheers mate - it seems to be running well again now. Think it was to do with the large server pack installation updates that had to be fetched and installed in the background using up more process. Cheers!
