Deals Tab Error/Bug in Settings menu

    Error: The deals tab in my settings section appears to have broken completely. It just displays an error/info message and will no longer allow me to change or view any setting that would normally appear on this tab.


    How I got here:
    • I recently installed Cortex Beta. Went into the settings > deals section
    • Tried to link my steam account
    • After logging in, I was prompted to enter in my authenticator code. I was a bit slow typing it in, and upon submit got an error (thinking maybe the code expired and it couldn't link properly), however it appeared that cortex kept attempting to link
    • This continued for an extended period of time, so I restarted cortex and now see the above screenshot anytime I click on the "deals" tab within the settings menu
    Additional Information:
    I have tried going into my account profile, Connections tab, and unlinking/relinking steam. This resulted in no change with the issue.

    This issue only appears to effect the settings screen (screenshot above). The normal Deals tab appears to be working, and even shows me my wishlist I had imported from the old (non-beta) version of cortex, however I am unable to sync as that just redirects me to the broken settings tab.

    Hi @HorrorBiscuit, sorry for the late reply. It slipped out of my eyes somehow.Here is a suggestion to solve this issue, something you may have tried, please exit all app from Razer Central and restart Cortex Beta to see how it works. Or you can just restart your computer and run Cortex to see how it works.

    Hello, thanks for responding. I have tried each of those suggestions: exiting Cortex from Razer Central and restarting it, as well as restarting my computer entirely. Unfortunately, neither suggestion resolved the issue.

    I have not tried uninstalling Cortex entirely and reinstalling it. This is mostly because I'm not terribly concerned with the particular functionality that is effected. I just wanted to report this simply because it does appear to be a bug and not intended behavior.

    Hi @HorrorBiscuit, please select Exit All Apps from the right-click menu of Razer Central to see how it woks. Thank you for being so patient with us.

    Hello, I think we're almost there. Doing this now will get me back into the Deals tab in settings, however it still seems to be struggling connecting to steam:

    When I load up the Deals tab, that is what I see: the connect button disabled with the "spinner" next to the connect button indicating that something is trying to happen. I walked away and returned half an hour later and it was still spinning. After waiting longer still, it eventually turned back into the first error (screenshot from original post).

    After that I tried exiting Cortex again in the same way, and got the Deals tab up again. This time after letting it spin for a long time, it just stopped spinning and the connect button was enabled again, with no indication that it was able to connect to steam. I tried clicking on the "connect" button one more time about 30 minutes ago and it still seems to be connecting.

    I figure I should probably point out that through Razer Centeral, in the Connections section, I am able to connect to my steam account with no issues and currently have it listed as a connected account.

    Thank you as well for your help and patience in trying to figure out what's going on here.

    Hi @HorrorBiscuit, we need your help getting some logs to investigate. Please download and unzip the file and run LogCollector.exe from, then fill out the Game and Description, then click Output button. There will be a zipped file generated on your desktop with all logs needed.

    Please upload the logs to services like Dropbox or Google Drive and paste the link here in the forum.
