So, long story short, shit went down with my old Robin (Ember, because of course...), and I had to get a replacement about a month/month and a half ago, and haven't really had any issues (minus the strange new "Fingerprint Hardware Not Available").
However, I woke up this morning, set up my train stuff via the Metrolink app, got on the train, and went to go unlock my phone only to discover that the fingerprint scanner wasn't working. I figured, "Oh well, it might just be the "Fingerprint Hardware Not Available" nonsense I've dealt with since getting the phone. Lo and behold, since this morning, my phone is convinced there's no fingerprint hardware existent on the device. There's no setting for it anymore in "Security", all of my apps that had the feature built in require password only now, and restarting/powering off my phone and fresh booting is not fixing a dang thing.
Has anybody else seen this, yet? It's really bizarre that, out of the blue, my phone is just convinced that fingerprint scanner technology was some fever dream or something.

So, bascially, support ends today. TODAY. So as soon as you see this comment, go straight to nextbit's support site and request a replacement device. If you want to troubleshoot, reflash the latest factory image. But honestly, just get a replacement in the 6 hours you still can.

Only problem with that, though, is that I need a phone for a multitude of reasons, and can't go without for even a few days (Metrolink ticket purchase-ability, as well as Uber setup in case my bus doesn't arrive on time, otherwise I can't get home from where I work). It's not bad enough that it'd warrant a replacement, especially considering the risk, but it is annoying enough to seek out a quick fix.
For now, I've settled with facial recognition via Smart Unlock features. It's worked pretty well so far, but here's hoping I won't need to worry about security issues if my phone were to be stolen.

I don't know, I sorta agree with getting it taken care of today before the support runs out. What if it gets worse? You're going to wish you got it replaced when you had the chance. Better to be without a phone for a little while rather than being without a phone permanent.

Yeah, maybe...I'll send a help desk request, and see if I get a response by today. If I remember correctly, it took about a few days to get a response back, so if they reply after today, I might be screwed either way.
