I think one of the many problems with this is that if it where commercialized SO many people would lose their jobs! I mean, a few would be produced with construction of this but it would cause such economic destruction I don't think would recover

Having something like that would make me constantly paranoid of something going really wrong and causing a really bad sickness.

You'd think as long as the ingredients where okay the printer wouldn't really do much to make them worse, only construct them into something edible.

Also I don't see the point in a food printer, you're essentially just putting liquid food in, a crap ton of electricity and you get solid food out... It just seems like a bit of a waste to me :joy:

I hear of chocolate, pizza, and pancake 3D printers so far... It sounds like a pretty technical and expensive way to make and eat food, but I guess it will have its place. I can see it being useful for wedding cakes and food for catered events.

First they make the food, then they eat the food, and soon... They'll be the food 0.o

Time to open a restaurant and have no one runs it like the one in japan and have 5 of these machines printing food. Charge the customer a grip tons of $$$. Or don't have any chefs and make it self serve.

    In the near future...
"Hey, what do you want for dinner?"
    "Idk, check on thingaverse"
"Theres a cool model for pasta here, we have all the ingredients."
"Ok, go ahead and send it over to the printer."

Well, I assume chefs are still going to be better cooks. I think the printer is still going to be for simple items and nothing too complicated as chefs often alter recipes on their own. For that, I think people will go out to restaurants for the sake of having a chef. So it could go the other direction and have cooking be a job of much higher prestige.
