How do I get rid of boot password?

  1. I had a password set that was required to boot before windows. I believe it did it through the BIOS. I'm having to send my system in for warranty work and was told to remove that. Now I can't figure out how. Any ideas?

    Settings -> Account -> Sign in with Local Account

    It will depend on your BIOS manufacturer, but usually it will be something in BIOS like Super or Master password, often found under Boot or Security options. As long as you know the password you should be able to remove it easily. PM me if you need more information.

    Oh, I didn't even realise, that you are talking about BIOS password.

    As far as I know, if you reset CMOS or remove the battery, the BIOS password should be reset.
