I'm thinking about buying a blade pro but my concern is that it's not gonna be as good as I'd expect a $2,800 laptop to be. In your opinion, is the blade pro really worth its cost?

I would get the 14", or wait for a blade pro refresh if there is one.

My personal opinion, the Blade Pro is very much worth it ... when it's the current and up to date product. I would not purchase a 2015 Blade Pro right now, I'd wait until they were able to put out a newer version so that you could buy the best/current version related to what hardware is available on the market.

Now, if one just fell into my lap so I could play with a Blade and get a feel of it for the sake of helping out more people around here when they have problems, I'd definitely take advantage of it. However, since I don't believe laptops generally rain from the sky, especially without being damaged, I don't find this daydream to be realistic. lol :big_grin_:

I can only guess theyre going to do a Pascal refresh for the Pro. Right now, its a really nice laptop, but way to expensive with last years specs.

A hint and a wink to Razer here eh?

To the original question, lets hope Razer says something about it soon to help us decide! In looking at past years I can't say I would have been convinced that the Pro was that much better (comparing the 2014 and 2015 models to each other), but I'm hoping that is not the case this year. With Pascal (Nvidia's new graphics generation) launching in 2 days (just got ninja'd on that I see) and some exciting techs becoming mainstream (higher resolution displays, PCIE based SSDs, Thunderbolt), I'm hoping this will be the year that makes the Pro the hands down best Blade in the lineup.

You just got me thinking, that may be the reason we haven't heard anything on the Pro yet since Pascal doesn't officially exist for two more days. Hopefully that means we will hear something shortly after Nvidia's big reveal!

Nah, I have nearly everything I want/need from Razer. I just can't afford their systems at this point in my life, but I sure would love to try them out for a while so I could understand the issues that other members have. Perhaps then I'd be of more use responding to the entire "Systems" section. hehehe

As for all the speculations on the potential next Pro model, I've no clue what they're waiting for, but I've no doubt it'll be worth the wait.

Of course it is! Everything Razer makes is worth the pay! Even if it has a 2-100 on Engadget

IMO yes! (but wait for the refresh)

actually just bought 3 Razer Blade pros , 3 ACER models, and 3 ASUS models for work. The Blade Pro is better liked around here for being cooler and lighter and just as fast as the others even though they have 6th gen i7's and slightly higher GTX models.

  9. The current blade pro is awful. Weak gpu, old cpu and the screen resolution and type sucks. Wait for an update or get the Blade 14, if you're looking for gaming.

I heard a lot of bad things about that little screen thing being glitchy. I'd wait until they figured out how to perfect that.

I wouldn't say glitchy as much as unfriendly. I got to play with a switchblade (that little screen thing) for a few days on whatever that high-end keyboard was that had that on it. Main issues were how sticky the trackpad felt and generally slow response times. Since I hear user enthusiasm for Switchblade has been low I find it doubtful we'll see another version of it.

not now. current blade pro sucks. like others' saying, it has 960m(too weak when considering competitors), not good display and obsolete SBUI.
if you really wanna razer-branded 17incher, just wait. I think they'll totally reboot the lineup like blade stealth and new 14incher.
