Alienware released their refreshed line up with Kaby Lake quadcores yesterday.
Is there any information about a Blade 14 2017 model with Kaby Lake i7?

I want to buy a new notebook but I do not want to buy an "old" notebook if you know what I mean...

I hope they do it after a year. I bought my 1060 blade and iam happy.
If they bring a new version within two or three months, I will RMA my blade for the new one at the expense of Razer.

I think thats not how an rma works...

I believe they will make an updated version in 2017, probably around april to may
however the kaby lake series does not offer that much of an improvement for gaming, I mean in terms of fps rate only a better gpu would make a real difference
  4. I think they are doing it right now. It's all sold out in Canada and said available in 4 months. Only model available is 1tb, but it exceeds my budget:slightly_sad:

    Thanks for your answers.
I called the customer.-service a few weeks ago and asked about the next gen i7, the guy said that it will took a while but now ALL laptops available upgraded to Kaby Lake.
...That's why I opened this thread. Razer must keep up with all the others.

In Austria and Germany the 256GB model is sold out, the 512GB (which I will buy) is available... 1TB of course too...but I think nobody will buy it because of the price.

As an alternative device I could go with the Alienware 13 but it's heavier and the batterie is smaller.
  6. Maybe MSI gs63? I bought the AW 13 and 15, but they are too hat for me. I returned them both.

MSI laptops are not available in Austria.

I live in Germany, and just returned my Blade FHD 256gb and get Qhd+, because of touch and it's Luxus feeling, i am suggesting u just get what available now in EU, because even they upgrade i think it will take a while until EU realase. And Kabylake is good to have but it not necessary, unless you want new stream technology, for gamer it's not big difference with skylake.

I am going to do a lot of video editing on my upcoming device. Maybe the Kaby Lake is faster because of the higher base clock at the same TDP. But I will see... Depends on what model is available in the next weeks.

Nevertheless I think I will go for a FHD model because of the lower price. I also don't like touchscreens, they are always dirty.
Maybe they're better for editing but I can't afford it and I need at least a 500Gb drive.

Im waiting for a razer blade 2017 hope it comes with 120hz screen and the quiet fan noise.

120Hz are not necessary I think because the GTX 1060 cannot produce more then 60Hz on AAA titles.
And I have heard that gsync do not support a "battery low energy" mode so the power consumption is much higher.

Maybe the blade should be 3mm thicker to put in some better fans...

Who said everyone played AAA titles? What if i want 120fps on a smaller title game?

I dont think they should make the blade thicker for better fans, the cooling is good enough as is for how small it is. Yeah the fans are loud, but they keep the blade cool just fine :)

Sorry for that, I didn't think about it.

I hope razer releases the new blade with the new Kabylake...at least I know it will last me a longer while!

No problem :) Sometimes i play older games, or indie type games, and having a smoother frame rate on those would be helpful still. Like right now I'm playing through Witcher 2 because I enjoyed Witcher 3 so much, so Witcher 2 would probably be able to get above 60fps on a 1060 depending on what settings i put it at.

Hope Kaby lake razer blade comes out soon and that they improve upon the system's overall stability
  17. I hope they redesign it - trackpad from the Blade Pro (NOT SYNAPTICS!) and also better I/O with more USB C and a magnetic charging solution.

For me an Ethernet Port and Mini DisplayPort would be awesome.
I really really hope they release some information soon.

As said at the top of this thread. The kaby lake brings absolutely no improvement, especially for gaming. There is no point for them to release a new one a couple months after bringing out their latest ones. The current ones are still rated and perform better than the stuff coming out of CES, especially seeing as how most of them are all coming with 1050s. The whole "it doesn't have kaby lake the second it is out" is complete bullshit. I doubt you will see anything for at least another half a year if not longer.

Razer is all about creating a great product, not about rushing it out for all the idiots that require the latest specs. You have to remember, Razer is all about the experience and they aren't a huge company that is going to pump out 10-15 models of different computer with latest specs just cause.

Ethernet port isnt going to happen because of how thin the laptop is, but mini displayport would be sweet! then people would have the option of hdmi and dp. with how much stuff they cram into that chassis though, not sure they have much room to add more ports lol
