So I was thinking, why not add a mobile Razer Insider app? Available on iOS and Android? Not much more to say, just why not an app?
If i'm not mistaken you can access the Insider forum on your phone too. I don't know how it looks i never did, but you can try and see.
An application for what? You mean something similar to Cortex? There's no need for a Insider apps while you still can access the site. Isn't it?
Razer Insider, I just think it'll be easier to access. Correct, it does take 5 seconds to access it on the web, but hey I love a 3-4 second difference. Also, the web is massive, so is the Google Play store and App Store but it would increase the number of people who sign up to Razer Insider, because the more availability, the more encounters, and the more encounters the more people. So an app will likely increase the number of users.
If I am understanding him correctly, I think he means that a dedicated app would make navigation a lot smoother on a phone. I'm not sure, but I would assume that the website is more friendly to PC and that on a phone you would have to scroll all around the page or completely zoom out on a tiny screen.
I'm not sure how much tangible benefit a dedicated App will bring to Razer. They would have to invest a lot of money and manpower into developing and then maintaining said App. Might be just better for them to let users browse insider through their browsers instead. Maybe at least for now. Not sure about the future though.
Iirc they're running a very small profit margin - if not a loss at the moment. So yeah. I may be wrong though. And even if they're making profits now, it doesn't mean that they should instead do something that won't maximise their profits. because that's how they grow their profit margins even more. It's an issue of opportunity cost. Sure it might not cost that much, but they probably have something better to spend that money on.
Yep - this is correct! You are only allowed to give out 5 "Likes" per day. Also, since people can earn achievements by obtaining "likes" they are viewed as currency and directly tied into zSilver. This is why it's against the rules for folks to ask for them. As for an app to view Insider, personally, I'm all for the idea. I can't stand how Insider looks on my phone/tablet right now. I dislike it so much that I won't even open it there unless I absolutely have to. I'd even only have two things I'd really want from it: to still have access to the mod capabilities so I could "work" on my phone/tablet and to be able see what's new vs already been read. Now the one thing I wish we could add to the regular PC browser version, well, and an app if they could, would be the ability to "mark all read" in any given forum section. hehehe
