No Man's Sky has been delayed AGAIN for the 3rd time now. Their development progress seems to be dragging along with most of the PS4 "exclusive indies" announced at E3 2014/2015. I'll pay $40 at most for this game and that is only if they keep up to the hype.

I am intrigued by the game. I try not to get to excited over games because if they turn out to be let downs I can take them at face value and enjoy them.

However, if No Man's Sky is amazing it could easily be one of the top games of this decade.

And if mod support is good then we might have the ultimate never ending game.
And just look at Skyrim. If the game gets that level of mod support just think about the absurd amount of content to enjoy.

The delays are no fun... BUT would you rather have an unfinished product? The industry standard seems to be to push an unfinished game out just to meet a release date, and it ends up sucking. I'm so sick if that - it's murdering the gaming industry.

NMS devs are taking the time they need to do it right. I don't like waiting any more than anyone else, but if the devs felt they needed to delay it, then the made the right decision in actually doing so.

That's Sony's issue, not a Hello Games issue.

Sony over-hyped a lot of games in 2014. They kept it up in 2015. Now it's 2016 and NMS is going to miss E3, again.

A game is done when it's done. If Hello Games says they need another three months to put a bit more polish on it, I'm fine with that. I've got the iam8bit Explorer's Edition pre-ordered (mostly for the die-cast "viper" ) :)

If you want that sweet metal ship, they still have Explorer's Editions available: http://store.iam8bit.com/collections/no-mans-sky/products/no-mans-sky-explorers-edition

I can't decide what to think about this game. I'm definitely going to wait a while to see the reviews on it. Hopefully they end up being good. That really sucks it won't be out for a good duration of the summer break.

Reminds me of another indie title that seems to be delayed a lot, right Star Citizen?, i'm looking at you.

I was actually just making the comparison considering I have Shenmue 3 on Kickstarter and Horizon Zero Dawn(not 3rd party but still delayed) on preorder :). Looking forward to these games for sure but Mighty Number 9 is looking to be a flop.

I spent almost an hour a couple days ago watching IGN's gameplay getting really hyped then found out another hour later that it was delayed. :slightly_sad:

I will wait for the release and maybe get it on a offer, need to see how the gameplay is like. Seems to be cool and awesome for now

If you want a taste of near infinite space exploration, maybe give Starbound a shot. It's only $15 on Steam.

It's kind of the Retro 2-D version of NMS, but a lot of the concepts are the same.

Starbound is to NMS, as Terraria is to Minecraft, if that makes sense.

Could give you an idea if you'd like the genre, anyway.

Your call ofc - but if you like 2D platformers at all, Starbound is definitely worth the $15.

NMS looks good, but I've already dropped a bomb on Star Citizen and to be honest prefer a game more centred around civilisation than exploration.

Certainly plan to keep tabs on it though, but also know a few friends who prefer NMS's style, & are very hyped for the (eventual) release. Good to see devs pushing release dates rather than releasing unpolished games, however.

Will be interesting to see how no man's sky go. Space exploration, combat, and said its super rare to find another player. Watching the demos look cool and all. Been wainting for a good space sim. But hope it doesn't become a big disappointment like X Rebirth..
