    Hi guys,

I own around 8 Razer products and my last purchase was Kraken 7.1 v2.
I was using Kraken 7.1 Chroma before. Actually I still am using the old one.

    So the problem is;
When I switched to Kraken 7.1 v2 from Kraken 7.1 Chroma, I realized that v2 has a very weird sound. I thought its because of drivers etc. But after days and weeks of striving i realized its not.
Everything sounds so deep, weird echoes, definitely not clear sound. It’s actually feels like its been enhanced to give better sound quality and capture every sound detail but it’s failed.

I don’t know how I can explain this better, but the sound feels like; you have a cup on your ears and youre hearing every sound from inside that cup. It gives the sound from too deep and sound is unclear and also echoing.

The sounds I can easily hear with Kraken 7.1 Chroma are definitely not hearable with Kraken 7.1 v2.

In CS:GO for example, which the only game I play seriously; I cant even hear the footsteps properly. Its not low sound, the volume is fine, but you cant understand where the sound is coming from and even the gunshots are echoing weirdly. I cant even discriminate where the gunshots are or footsteps are coming from, which I can easily do with old Kraken.

So I sent my headset to the reseller for warranty, they replaced it with a brand new one, then when I tried out, the new one also gives the same low, deep, unclear sound I explained above.

I wanted to see if there is any other person who has the same problems I have with 2 different Kraken 7.1 v2.
If you have a solution for this please advise.

So if you have suggestion or anything for me to fix this please help.

I just want to know if this is how the headset is or if its faulty again. I feel like this is how the headset is designed. I dont think both brand new headsets can be faulty.

If I cannot fix this I will never ever buy another Razer product ever again. When I add this sound problem to my brand new Mamba TE’s cursor problems, which I cannot get it fixed/replaced because I bought this mouse from US, not from my own country, Razer brand started to be so problematic for me.
Thanks god I bought Kraken from my own country so I could use the warranty. But it went in vein.

This is merely a comment from a guy who is in PC gaming atmosphere since 1999. Dont take this as a threat or something. I’m just a loyal client who seeks the best.

    Extra info:
I was using the old Kraken 7.1 Chroma with standard EQ settings. Using v2 with same standard EQ settings, which is untouched, unedited and all bars stays in the middle in EQ board. My ears are perfectly fine aswell. I’m playing games since 1996 and playing CS since 1999(used to be professional) and into online games since 2000.

    My rig:
    -Asus 1080ti Strix OC
    -Asus ROG Hero VIII
    -Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB @3200mhz
    -i7 6700k
    -SanDisk 960GB Extreme Pro SSD

No one has any idea about this people?

I have the two Kraken versions at home and i've never feel a difference.
May be some stupids questions but have you tried on a different USB port ?
Or uninstal all Razer's softwares ?
Or activate a sound enhencement an then deactivate it ?
