Up until recently, my blade has had a few issues with completely entering a sleep state when I close it. Some times, the indicator LED would be flashing green and my laptop would still technically be using power, but the fans would not turn on, leading to my laptop getting pretty hot. I believe these issues are what caused my laptop to have an issue now with the intake fans.

As of now, my right bottom intake fan is not turning on at all, and the left one is trying to compensate by spinning at a higher rpm (this is based off just what I hear during normal usage). My laptop no longer has a warranty on it so I can no longer go with that option. I took out the "faulty" fan and ran around 3.5v through it to see if it would spin and it did, which means that the fan is not the issue. I really don't want to trace the connections from the female socket housing on the motherboard to find out where the issue really is, so I was thinking of drawing power from the other fan by extending the 5v and ground wires and soldering them to the 5v and ground wires of the working fan. I believe that this would allow both of the fans to spin at the same speed and have the same speed controls because it seems that the other two wires are for sensing and tachometer.

    Two concerns I have:
    1. The female socket on the working fan is not able to supply enough current to run both fans in parallel which would mean I would have half the original power of the fans at all times.
    2. The current being drawn from the source is too large for the thin wires to handle (I'm not sure what gauge wire laptop fans use)
Is this the best solution there is for this situation? If not, is there anything else I can do to make both fans work properly again? Sorry for the long post and thanks for helping out!
