I'm waiting for money to come through from some commission work I did...once it does I'll be clear to hopefully net me one of them that makes it to AUS (assuming that happens)...here's hoping!

I hope it'll launch at the same price as the 2016 970m version ... and that they drop the price of the one with the 970m

I'm scared that they will jack up the price at first

Fingers crossed! And sure if you'd like I suppose I can have a go at reviewing it or whatnot. That said, doubtlessly this forum will be flooded with people doing the same thing, many of them with a lot more knowledge than I so I'll have to rely on my...uhh...wit...or something...

Yeah I'm reeaaaaallllyyy hoping it'll be a same price dealeo, and as you said they'll run out the 970m model. Depending on the pricing and full specs I may have to make a decision based on what I actually need vs. my funds. I have kind of prepared myself though to splash out (a lot..) and get something which will be solid and last me many a year.

Really hope the price doesn't go up, at least not by too much, I might cry otherwise :sob:

I am looking at the Canada store. I am fairly confident that even if you order on the first second it is not going to ship. hopefully Razer keep releasing 970m version is to gather stock for 1060 version.

Considering how the 10 series notebook GPUs are on par with their desktop counterparts I think the whole e-GPU idea will start to fade away, especially for the Blade Stealth users since the dual core was a pretty significant bottleneck to start of with.

That being said there is still a use case where you want a really thin notebook and a gaming power house but even that is being filled up by msi and others with their thin and light models.

e-GPU still makes sense on a throttling basis, and for upgrading. I can keep my Blade for four years and buy a mid-life GPU upgrade for $800

Throttling, excessive heat, and upgrading the dGPU could easily make a case for
    an eGPU.

I guess it looks like Nvidia has plenty to give away, I wish I was one of those lucky winners:slightly_sad: image.jpeg image.jpeg

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's starting to look like the Razer Blade Pro is discontinued.

Yeah like I said, some use case might still be available but for alot of people a 1060 will last alot since effectively its the same card as the desktop class where upgrade cycles start at around 2 years or so. Most people switch laptops by then. But your use case is still valid.
