Shadow Warrior is one of my favorite games that I have stumbled upon lately and has flown completely under the radar. But it is this phenomenal blend of old school shooter with modern mechanics and goofy characters. Its visceral, powerful, and thrilling the whole way through. It is kind of like Doom but with a ridiculous main character that cracks jokes the whole time and also has a sword. I figured I would make a thread about it because I noticed it is currently on sale. Normally its 40 bucks, right now its $4.... haha I was just so excited I had to share. You guys should check it out.

I figured you would be more excited about Rocket League being in the new Humble Bundle Monthly bundle. :)

Its an amazing game! I can't wait until I am able to sit down and play it through.
Its a nice bit of a challenge at times because you have to get up close and personal with the mansters however, I love the setting, graphics, and gameplay.

I thought the title sounded familiar, I saw it a few days ago when Steam put it in the Devolver Digital Sale when I was checking out the Talos Principle. I think I was gonna pick this up on console back when it came out, but a friend told me it's just a "hack n' slash" type of game so I never followed up on it. I'll go ahead and give it a closer looksy later.

You can look at both the videos I linked and see what the gameplay is like. But I generally think of 3rd person games sorta like god of war when I think of hack and slash, this one is really just an old school shooter with the option to use magic and a katana, but its ridiculously fun.

LOL, what the hell did I just watch? That was nuts. Looks kind of fun though tbh. I especially like using melee in shooters, so I might have to check this out. Thanks for the introduction Destrok.

I didn't have time to invest into the demo, I ended up grabbing the special edition since it was only a $1 more.

I normally don't post stuff like this but the game was only four dollars during the sale so I figured I had to share. haha

Do you think I should make "mess with the bull, you get the wang" my official signature for when I am moderating threads? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You know it's always four dollars right?
Every time I've seen Shadow Warrior on sale, it's been four dollars.

Not to downplay Shadow Warrior at all, but is it odd that I am more excited to try out the free copy of "Vicera cleanup detail: shadow warrior" than the actual base game?

haha not at all, those games are surprisingly fun.
yeah it seems he has a different spirit inside now and of course he has two swords now because its the second game.... lol, but the new enemy design seems cool.

    From Steam's game page:

Blades and Bullets: Lo Wang delivers his own brand full throttle brutality with an expanded array of over 70 lethal blades and explosive firearms to overcome the demonic opposition. Become a whirlwind of steel and blood with razor sharp katana, short swords, crescent blades, and hand claws or unleash a hellish symphony of ornate firearms to decimate your enemies.

Four Player Co-Op: Battle through the expansive campaign alone or team up as a four-player typhoon of destruction online in campaign co-op mode. Tackle challenging primary missions or thrilling side quests while maintaining your own ninja style with customizable armor, items, and valuable loot from your triumphs.

Procedural Environments: The breach between the human and demon realms created an interdimensional hernia resulting in constant shifts to the world of Shadow Warrior 2. Procedurally generated landscapes and paths bring new twists and turns to once familiar terrain and routine missions.

Brutal Damage System: Choose your weapon based on the situation at hand and then dismantle everything that stands in your path with an advanced gore system. Use precision blade strikes to separate limbs and heads or switch to heavy ordinance and blow a hole right through colossal beasts.

Custom Upgrade System: Upgrade weapons in your arsenal with up to three stones at once to improve performance or augment them with devastating elemental effects. Collect karma, amulets, and Frarmor to enhance Lo Wang’s power and shift his death-dealing artistry into overdrive.
