So, this story takes us 3 years back, to early 2014, ending of my first year in uni, pursuing computer science undergrad degree. It was about a few months I had told my mom that I was gonna get a laptop soon. So I was in hostel on phone with her one evening and she asks me when was I gonna get the laptop so that she would keep the money ready(Yes, I live in India, where we live with our parents and don't branch out as we turn 18).

Lets take it like a conversation from here:
Mom: When are you going to get a new laptop?
Me: Just waiting for the new 4th gen Intel processor powered laptops around Rs.70,000($1100) so that the laptop would last me during my college years without needing an upgrade.
Mom: Why don't you get the laptop that you truly want instead of settling for a mediocre one.
Me: My dream laptop is very costly and I will get it once I start earning after college.
Mom: Just tell me which laptop you want and how much it will cost.

So I tell her that Razer Blade Pro is my dream laptop and it would cost around Rs.160,000($2200) and she is like get it. I was like on cloud 9 and jumping around in the hostel telling my friends that I was gonna get my dream laptop. So my mom and my mom's mom pooled up their resources and gifted me this beautiful beast.

There was another segment, a bit sad one, in between where I couldn't get the laptop till September 2014 as I couldn't get hold of any relatives coming from US back to India. So eventually I did get it, 256gb ssd one which costed me around Rs.180,000(2700$) as when a few relatives were headed back to India, the 128gb ssd one was out of stock and I just had to get it this time.

Hope you all enjoyed my story. I might share some other wonderful gaming memories with or without this beautiful beast if you guys like it.

I never expected it, I was gonna get a mediocre sub-gaming laptop, but this came to me as a gift. And thank you for you comment, I will share my BYOC(Bring Your Own Computer) 2013 event's story soon. Its a long one too, so just hold on till I feel motivated enough. It involves my first ever gaming products, deathadder 2013 and goliathus speed

Wish we didnt live in a 3rd world country. I have to order all my stuff from the US as well. I can only get Razer stuff or even most of Amazon related stuff once a year and I have to make sure it isnt heavy or large enough to cause inconvenience to friends or family coming back. Its just funny how Thailand gets a dedicated Razer store while India doesnt even have the option to get products shipped here.

Also great story, something I have gone through personally as well. :)

My mom wouldn't do that. I'd have to buy my own.

But you are just 15 yo. But I guess its never too early to start earning these days. Pick something, get legendary at it and you are sorted.

For just a second I thought you said you are legendary at making burnout donuts with a car. Then I read 15 years old and laughed just a little at my own thought process. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

My mom wouldn't buy me one so I ended up having to buy my own Razer Blade but enjoy it...I love mine

What a great thread - I'm really happy for you that you have your Blade, though! I still can't quite justify that expense since my current laptop works perfectly well for the things it needs to do. Someday though ... I keep telling myself... someday... :)

Happy that you liked it. Now this reply is gonna be a good one, hold your horses...
Blade, despite being a laptop, has made me fall in love with it. Haven't come across any "thing" in my life that has had such an effect on me.
@Min-Liang Tan @razer...thank you for this beautiful creation.

I know that feeling... At least it worked out in the end! Many people forget that money ain't the same for everybody, we all aren't bill gates! My first laptop costed $170 CAD, my second costed $500 CAD and got me through all of school. My latest laptop, the RB 2016 is gonna have to last 10 years or so...

I hope mine can last a few years more. Because mine is not serviceable here in India and would cost a lot to get it fixed if anything happened to it actually.
