I wish they would allow pre-orders for the Gunmetal edition.

what if razer makes a razer blade laptop that cant turn into a desktop PC. like the monitor and keyboard can disconnect. As a laptop user I know it will be very good because you cant adjust your setup properly using a laptop and it makes it uncomfortable unlike a PC. and it will be great for traveling. I think its a cool concept.

They had such concept before, in project Fiona that came as gaming tablet Razer Edge, well like other Tablet, you have to buy the keyboard separately though. But it has unfortunately already discontinued.

Between the new Stealth and the downgraded Pro, who needs a plain Blade anymore? ;-P

    Weight? Size?
BUT, you're right, in case your main point was that the price is high.
On the other hand, the new XPS 13 with the same innards is not too far behind.

Now that this comes with 4 Cores, I'm seriously considering swapping my 1060 14" blade to this, due to the reduce weight and size.

I've had my 7500U Blade Stealth for just over a month now... and then this gets released. And, judging from what I've read, the 8550U seems much faster than the 7500U.

    I guess that's just bad luck :slightly_sad:.

Did I miss any announcements about this or was there some way to know that a new one would be coming out? I'm guessing Razer doesn't have a trade-in program, so there most likely isn't anything I can do about it, but I'd like to know for future reference.

There’s no way of knowing. Razer does not release laptops on a set schedule.

Ah, I guess it is just bad luck then. It's not like the 7500U Stealth is any less amazing than it was a month ago, I just wish I had known.

    Thanks for the info!

  17. Its no luck by any means, sorry to say. The Intel Kaby Lake-R line with the 8550U was announced around June for Q4 release this year. The informations were rather precise tbh (15W, 4 cores etc.). If you would have done your homework, you would have been able to predict the arrival for these chips. Give or take 1-2 months but the time frame was crystal clear. In addition to the Core/Stealth combination it is not hard to guess that Razer is one of the first companies to update their Ultra-Portable line. After all its a big step up for gamers with an eGPU setup.

The 7500U is still a good chip. Glad i waited though and can purchase a notebook with the 8550U now.

I can't wait TBH but still saving up. Meanwhile, this baby is still in great condition, 'tho. Will probably keep it forever, just for keepsakes, my first Razer ever!
