This has to be one of the worst cases I've heard of. Really is a shame that someone went to CES with the intention of stealing Razer's prototypes.

However, it is pretty darn impressive that they managed to pull this off. Not even Linus could have managed it.

Min-Liang Tan has said more on facebook, by the sounds of it they still have no idea who it is :slightly_sad:

I understand that CES is crowded, but was the table so crowded that a camera couldn't have pulled up exactly what happened? There's a lot of money and products at CES, so I would imagine security has to be tight. It sounds less likely that someone "saw an opportunity" and went for it on a whim, and more likely that it was planned out.

It was took in a press room apparently, So we never know what the security would be like. I would think that it would be good and pretty strict, But someone did say somewhere that the security was not as plentiful after the first day of CES. It also could have been the fact that it was stolen about 4pm on a sunday night, While CES was winding down. Probably less security around then as well.

Man that sucks :slightly_sad: hopefully they'll get some leads on who took it.

My guess could be wrong but I got a feeling it's the guys from the Security themselves! Either that or one/some of the security guys were bribed....I cannot imagine anyone just walking in CES, took those prototypes (which were clearly pretty big and very noticeable) and walk right out without anyone seeing him/her/them and totally no footage of the scene!

Who knows, they might have already been caught but currently discussing how to go about solving the issue (who to push the blame to) because the reputation of the Securities cannot be tarnished!

    Just saying......

Wow. How does one steal Project Valerie? It was just a prototype too where the side monitors didn't even slide in yet right?

I don't know how much the perps would learn if this was actually planned corporate espionage because Razer said themselves that they have higher fidelity prototypes at HQ. I'd say this sounds more like someone who has something against Razer trying to make a statement.

It's rather shocking how it was possible to actually steal something from such a large, fairly secure venue such as CES!

    Top quality meme here.
For some background info, this is Linus. He is one of the biggest tech YouTubers. If you haven't heard of him then you probably live under a potato.

Anyway he likes to go to CES and mess around with some of the displays.

Despite being a Razer fan I don't feel sorry for them in this case.
If a tech company do not have a "FindMyiPhone" for their prototype devices then they are asking for trouble.

Or it's was an inside job...

I think he will be arrested and possibly imprisoned. This case may be a little bit different, But if you think about it this is the same as stealing over 10k work of items out of someones house. If he is not arrested and imprisoned, He will defiantly be charged for a lot.

And if its corporate espionage... Well *hit's gonna go down!

Since it's a prototype, it could easily be considered grand larson.
