Blackwidow Ultimate 2016 Effects Configurator tools availability?

  1. I recently purchased a Blackwidow Ultimate 2016 and so far I've been mostly happy with it. My only frustration comes from the custom effect editor. Frankly, it seems to be missing options. I feel like I can get more done writing the xml profiles by hand than relying on the GUI. Whether it's grouping buttons together unintentionally (set two buttons to breath with the same settings and pressing one causes both to breathe), or the mysterious Starlight layer and it's single option of duration, or the few milliseconds lag on the reactive layer that isn't there if you use the preset.

The XML profiles all have references to red, green, and blue values. Obviously I only have green to work with, but this makes me think they were designed to be at least partially mimic the format for, say, Chroma devices. So, my question is this:

Is there documentation available for the XML profile configurations and/or is there a more full-featured effects editor I can access?

In the end I like this keyboard a lot. My first mechanical keyboard was an IBM Model M. My second was an old Das Keyboard Ultimate (that I'd still be using were it not for the LSHIFT Cherry Blue needing replacing). As much as the 'hokey' lighting effects didn't appeal to me, I find I'm enjoying seeing what this thing can do, but it seems to have been abandoned in the wake of Chroma. I think this thing has more potential than Synapse is letting on. I'd love to even just peek at the Chroma effects editor and see what it does under the hood and what this guy will and won't support, but without a Chroma device, Synapse won't even download the utilities.

I like this keyboard enough that it has my attention. I'd rather go about this with the help of official tools and documentation as a basis. Even just an XML schema for the profiles would help a ton.

I know it's not technically a support question, but an e-mail to Razer Support about those things is never a bad idea. If they can't release some of that information, then they can't. If they can, then it's a good place to get help.

Maybe one of the developers who frequent the forums can help out, since I know that a bunch of them work with the Chroma SDK and things like that.

What say you, @Vaypron? Any ideas on where @Fangul can start looking or tinkering under the hood?

Oh, and welcome to Razer Insider, @Fangul!
