I'm going to be honest, it's really not cool to cycle games like this. Largely because everybody has a different taste in games. I know people who only play League of Legends and that's all they've played for years. Or they only play WoW, or another MMO. Doing it this way guarantees people's favorite games (or in some cases, only games) will not be on the list. TBH I got lucky for August because PUBG is currently what I'm playing, but I don't play anything else in August's list. And if you haven't been able to tell by looking through this forum (which I know you guys do) people like a very wide variety of games and have been asking for so many different games that you just alienated many many Razer fans.

But Razer also needs to recognize that not every gamer is made of money (I mean why else would we care about this program otherwise), we have responsibilities. Some people here might be college students who are currently losing more money than they are making but still love Razer gear and are customers through gifts or a Razer item is their splurge of the year. Some fans might be teens. People can't be expected to own any game that might be in the list.

A loyalty program is supposed to reward fans, not make them feel left out.

Yeah I don't think anybody's feedback was to make it less of an enjoyable program.

This is actually doing the exact opposite.

Why lock it to a single game? If we are still capped at 900 zSilver then what is the harm in letting users choose what games they play?

Lastly, I know people are in here saying "it's free stuff stop complaining" and to that I gotta say you have a pretty poor understanding of modern business practices. Take a look around, every company nowadays has a rewards program because it's what they have to do to stay competitive. If Razer thinks it's a good idea to alienate their fanbase, they just lost customers. That's capitalism folks. People are upset and there is reason to complain, one of our favorite companies is giving a giant middle finger so shouldn't you care about that? Some people are willing to jump ship and go through another company to get their gaming peripherals due to being alienated by this. Personally idc that much, chances are I'll be playing at least one of the monthly games. But I want Razer, and others, to be aware of the harm being done here because I love Razer products and don't like to see them hurting their business.

thats a very narrow point of view, and yes im complaining. talk as if you know the situation, good one. maybe i'm unable to work due to disabilities and having this was the only way i could replace my damaged keyboard and now that they removed the only 2 games i owned on that list i have zero chance of progressing. so yes im complaining cause they don't even have anything on Septembers list either
  5. Hello guys,

After reading all the comments, I mostly agree with you.
As a lot of people sad, this is a step backward. We get it, there are too many people using Cortex and earning zSilver, meaning you have to send out more free stuff. Razer is a massive company which havent taken any economical damages because of the Paid2Play campaign, as I've seen. (More like they gained more followers)

I would support the 3 most played games (like CSGO, Overwatch, LoL) which are always in the list + 4 community picked games + 3 picked by Razer, totalling out at 10. This number would be more appropriate for the gamers.

Just take a look at a random player. For instance, he is a competitive CSGO player. He is part of his team. He is playing the game all the time, learning tactics, and has no time whatsoever for any other game, because our test subject player needs to maintain his skill at the game. This player was participating in the Paid2Play system because he HOPED one day he will get a better headset, mice or anything... This is a pure saddening move that you took away this chance from a player who IS NOT ABLE TO AFFORD RAZER STUFF.

Hope someone at Razer reads this and evaluate our passion and love towards the games.
By the way I have a Kraken 7.1 and a Deathadder Chroma, so my message is NOT about "oh y u do dis i cant buy razer things oh jeeez dont force me to play des games", I'm just upset cuz you didnt even ask your tartget audince before making such a huge move.

    Thanks for reading,

But seriously, I'm truly dissapointed with this measure that "I just saw it today" because i didn't have any notification or "big announcement" on my email at all, and kinda sucks because not every ppl out there can afford a Razer product at all (the country customs, taxes, overprices, etc.) and this WAS a very nice way to achieve a free accessory from the Razer store.

I would like to see the Razer community to team up and probably demand or make a petition to change to the old system. Why did you fix something it isn't broken ?

*Pardon me for my english, is not my native btw.

Very, very bad news. One of the worst decisions you ever made. I strongly disagree but... It will nerf the zSilver System (Maybe it's the only good news in it).
Double zSilver with Dota 2 ? During the internationnal 7 ? Ok why not, If there is no match I will play :)

I'm glad to see GTAV on the list for August but it would be nice to see more primarily single-player games show up in the polls at least. I don't have a stable enough connection to play online, so I've never actually been able to earn zsilver aside from the small amount that you get for logging in to cortex.

SAME. And I am 100% sure that the games I play (Overwatch, WoW= won't get chosen any time soon because other games are more popular. I was so close to finally getting a Lancehad Te, and now this. Great.

YES. I only played Hearthstone for a little bit. All the other games I don't have, and don't like the play-style. But HOPEfully they can add Overwatch again.

I only play Starcraft 2, Hearthstone and Dota 2....
This means if none of the games represent in that month, I won't get any zSilver...

    Bad... Sad... GG:frown_::frown_::frown_:

I usually don't complain, but this change is actually the worst marketing decision Razer could have possibly made. If you want people to use Razer Cortex, this is exactly what you need to do to get them to stop.

Gaming is a hobby that people choose to do because they enjoy it. No gamer will play a game that they're forced into playing. Gamers want to play a game(s) that they enjoy. If it happens that while playing the game that they enjoy they can get something extra, such as zSilver, then they will have an incentive to use Razer Cortex.

Now that you have removed the ability for so many gamers to earn zSilver while playing the games that they enjoy, you have removed any incentive for them to use Razer Cortex. Gamers are not going to download or buy another game to earn zSilver. Especially if they don't like the game.

You might get some more users from the games on this month's list, but I can assure you that you are losing a lot more user from discontinuing the popular titles such as Overwatch and LoL.

There is going to be an event in Overwatch starting next week from the 8-28th, I am devoting all of my gaming time to it as I want the cosmetic gear and to play Lucio ball while I can once a year. In the past I would have earned silver now I wont, which sucks. Yeah it's good to introduce people to new games, but there are a lot of people that devote themselves to one game.

I kinda disagree with your disagreement.
I only play some games on steam and mostly Overwatch, Hots and World of warcraft so... I don't need at all the program anymore. I don't play SC2 because i just suck at it. Dota 2? Whats that ? xD

The really awesome games are removed from the list, to yeah, razer made a terrible mistake that should fix right away or they are going to face the consequences of a big (not massive 'cause it would sound "exagerated") migration of fans of the Razer products or at least, ppl that will uninstall Cortex.

Also, why is "nerfing" zSilver system a "good thing" ?? There's already a limitation of 900zsilver per day and also it takes a lot of time (maybe 3 or 5 months) to redeem those points for the cheapest piece of gear on the razer-store.... so, with all due respect... "what ?? i can't see any reasonable argument on your statement xD

Overwatch PLEASE. I can't afford PUBG. And Overwatch is getting better............................................
  20. I believe you're confused. Razer Cortex' Paid to Play isn't forcing anyone to play games. You don't want to play games? Don't. You don't want to score zSilver while playing? Don't. I'd like to make clear to every Insiders who claim they are "forced to play certain games" that it isn't the case. Paid to Play isn't a mandatory program.

Paid to Play is made to allow all gamers to get an extra out of their playtime by earning zSilver that you can then redeem to score FREE Razer peripherals and gear.

This update is made to gather the whole community around certain titles for a month and allowing you to discover new ones. We also made sure that among the 5 featured games, at least one was a Free-to-Play so anyone can join in - so no one's left out. Playing games isn't a job for 99.9% of us and earning zSilver isn't a due. Paid to Play is a way for us to give back to the community we love.

We all love playing games. That should always be the main reason why we do it - PLAY. As gamers and Razer fans, keep this in mind. Keep on gaming because you love it; because it brings us together; because it's our safe place; because it's a thrill.

    Play because it's fun.
