I have the BlackWidow Chroma keyboard, and I've tried using the function keys for music (F5, F6, F7) with iTunes, to no avail. iTunes is my default music program, I've been in and out of the window, and I've even set my keys to multimedia keys, and nothing has worked.
Do you have a Mac or PC? Did you also make sure that you didn't hit the G-Key by accident? Edit: mine seems to work without holding down FN-key
The one on F10. If it was activated then it would probably also show a lit up icon in the top right of the keyboard that looks like a G inside a sniper target.
That is why. Turn off Gaming Mode (G-Key) and it should work for iTunes. You can also turn off Gaming Mode in Synapse if it randomly turns back on after you turned it off.
Nope, no G-Key. It didn't work even when I had the Back/Pause/Next buttons set to multimedia keys either
Hmmm I did a web search... do you possibly use Google Chrome as your main browser? I have been reading multiple places that Chrome hijacks your function keys due to the Play Music function. http://www.omgchrome.com/chrome-google-music-media-keys/ explains how to disable the functions in Play Music.
Hmmm... another gives instructions on how to do this on earlier versions of Windows... I imagine it would be the same on the latest... www.everythingitunes.com/os/windows/2008-01-04/mmkeysdll/ Try following the Vista instructions?
The first line of that says that it no longer works because the software has been updated, so I'm not exactly keen to download something that is said won't work...
<--- dunno what this comment is about then. hmmm... Well, you can try HKTunes as it recommends then? mmkeys.dll Doesn't seem like it would be harmful either way if you wanted to try it.
