Now It January Only 1 Month Left For Support Or Something .

    While there's no way for me to know what's going on behind the scenes, given their assurances of updates through February 2018, I'm hopeful that they will fulfill that promise. At the very least, they need to provide a fully updated version of Nougat with all security and bug fixes to date.

    However the lack of communication is troubling, as is having no updates since April 2017. It's hard to look at this positively given those facts. If no update is provided or if it's glaringly incomplete, I wouldn't have much faith in any other phones that Razer produces.

    I'm hoping for a good outcome and will use the next two weeks as a way to judge their future offerings.

    Right, that is not just about the faith for Robin, but for ANY product that Razer offers.

    That wasn't really extended support though. That was the basic level of support they promised users (support for two years after launch). They didn't even actually fully honour the warranty (people who bought the phone less than six months before the acquisition didn't get the full year guaranteed), and many didn't get real hardware support during the support period (lots of threads about people being ignored), so I have zero reason to think we'll actually get anything in the next ten days. Abysmal support, and I'll restate that I won't support future projects by the former Nextbit team or Razer as a result.

    I think they will release the update with or after razer phone is updated to Oreo....

    And Santa Claus will be coming down my chimney with the Easter bunny this year as well. It's time to throw in the towel, there will be no updates, not oreo, not security patches, not 7.1.2. Razer is finished with Robin, it's time for Robin users to be finished with Razer. What are horrible company, the way Robin was dealt with after they purchased it has been a complete F.U. to Robin owners. Good luck with that non Oreo Razer phone. It's almost March, when will that get Oreo when P is released?

    Good thing I didn't waste my money on the new Razer phone.

    Keep myself calm? You guys are the ones that need to stay calm. Constantly begging for updates and security patches that are not coming. I'm calm, I picked up an HTC U11 and it's updated to Oreo with January security patch. Take your own advice, I've moved on.

    You're all effing fools for drinking the Kool-Aid and still defending the impossibility of getting any security update, much less Oreo. Considering I don't have any interest in dropping $700 for vaporware phone promises in the guise of the Razer phone, I'll seek out greener plains in the hands of another manufacturer that doesn't buckle at the immediate promise of continuity and mobile development from a company known for screwing people over. Enjoy your $50 Walmart phone, I'm not putting up with this shit any longer.
     

  13. Yeah this is pretty much on point unfortunately. I really liked the Nextbit Robin, and was holding out hope we would get one last update.....but things look pretty bleak at this point.

    Plus Razer is a hokie company. Nowhere near the aesthetic that Nextbit had going on.

    I'm out too. I'm not interested in the Razer phone.

    No communication from anyone in the last few months.

    Makes you wonder how Razer does on those updates for that $700 phone???

    Lol. Unsurprising to no one: They're screwing those buyers over, too. Razer phone users were promised boot ROMs for the current/released builds; nothing. Razer phone users were promised major OTA updates, most likely Oreo, by January/early February; nothing. Color me surprised when they dick over users for their new phone, after already dicking over who knows how many Nextbit Robin owners from the second the acquisition went into place.
     
  16. Guess that is par for the course, with the way they ran the Robin into the ground once they acquired Nextbit.

    Way to ruin a good thing Razer!

    I'm going with a Nokia android next, or at least a manufacturer that can keep up with updates.

    It isn't vaporware, the razer phone exists and is being sold right now. Does that mean anyone should buy it? F NO! Not after how they treated Robin owners. They shipped that pos on Nougat and promised an update to Oreo in the first quarter. Not to mention the dumpster fire camera that they took directly from Robin and used in their new phone. Unbelievable! Razer phone can't take a good picture if it's life depended on it. Here we almost in March and where is that update? It's coming with the Robin updates, lol.

    That's what I mean; now that the phone itself is vaporware, just that the purported "amazing" features they made people gawk at weren't all that they were cracked up to be, whether it be pertinent to the camera, or they're claims that Oreo was on the threshold of being released for those that bought the phone at debut.
    But yeah, it's a vicious cycle with their newer iteration, as they'll continue hyping it up with cover variants, hardware specs, etc., all the while asking for a price that could instead be used towards a Pixel 2, where the camera is top-of-the-line, has Oreo from factory, etc.

    The Update problems with Android are endemic, none of the other guys are doing that great either. Samsung for as big as they are and with almost unlimited resources sucks at updates. So does Moto,LG, and many others. HTC is only slightly better and Sony so far has been pretty good. My phone got updated to Oreo in December and that's considered pretty fast by android standards. But none of that let's Razer off the hook for terminating software and hardware support as of last year. Software updates through February, what an effing joke. They have 5 days left!

    Razer should have never shipped a phone without Oreo, screw your stupid 120hz battery killing refresh rate. Oreo was more important, get that done first then update the phone with your 120hz gimmicks later.
