My chroma lighting animation constantly freezez/stops at some point. It use to work ok, however since approx three updates ago the problem started.

Have done everything such as uninstall drivers & Synapse software and reinstalled, but no change.

This problem happens when either in desktop or in a game, it does not seem to matter as it's random.

On Windows 10 (always up to date)

Does this only happen if set to a specific Chroma profile? Does it still freezes even when Synapse is not running and the lighting is set to default?

Once the Orbweaver freezes, attempting to change chroma profiles have no effect as it remains frozen in the same chroma profile with no animation.

Closing the Synapse software by right-clicking on it in the system tray icon and then choosing "exit", appears to have no change as the Orbweaver remains in a frozen state.

Only a reboot temporarily cures the RGB animation freeze error until it happens again within minutes or so.

This only happened directly after one of the recent updates (a few updates ago). Attempting to install a previouis version of Synapse is futile because the Synapse software will always run an update upon install completion before it functions. Disconnecting the internet does not appear to help because Synapse won't finally run correctly until it has connected to the internet for an update check, so I am unable to resort to a previous version that worked ok for me personally.

Amazingly, the Orweaver is not supported in the seperate newer version 3 of Synapse, so I am unable to try that.

I wish there had been an option to disable updates for the Synapse software, because over the years "some" update have introduced problems. An example separate to this issue, is that one of the previous updates (after it was installed) somehow made the Synapse program/process run too quickly after powering on and booting up the system which did not give the networlk cards ebough time to fully connect to the internet. The result was that after each and every "boot" the Synapse software could not connect to the internet and would present the sign in box (Username and password) before the program would operate.

I see. Do the Orbweaver freezes even when Synapse is not running? Also, there is an option to start Synapse 2 in offline mode.

The problem is most likely that you are running 2.0 and 3.0 at the same time. In which case go into the 2.0 menu and select CHROMA APPS then make sure that CHROMA APPS is set to off. It is not off by default.

I had this issue and another issue for I would say a year. They kept escalating my case until a former employee of RAZER who I went to college with was visiting and fixed both of my issues. The lighting issue was simple enough the issue with the Killer Network drivers was another issue.

If that did not fix the issue. Then I want you to unplug your RAZER products. Plug in some new devices to uninstall everything. Then go into Device Manager. CLICK VIEW at the top. Then select SHOW HIDDEN DEVICES, go through and uninstall the drivers and setting for each and every one you can find. Then go and uninstall all software. Then reinstall after your reboot. I always download 2.0 first and make sure CHROMA APPS are off. Then install 3.0 and all is right with the world. If you have an item that is going to start installing 3.0 the moment you plug it in make sure you have that completely unplugged until the very end. That will hopefully fix your issue.
