What are your experiences with competitive play so far? Great new challenge and validation? Or frustrating pile of garbage and despair? Anyone want to team up?

It has been ok and what I hate about it is when one person leaves and never come back. It screws over the rest of the team with a lost.

It really depends on the people you get matched with. The placement matches I played seemed like everyone was on the same page, but once I got ranked and started playing it seemed like no one cared about the objective and was just going for kills. I'd say half the time it's a good crew of people, the other half it's the ones just looking to get play of the game with multi-kills.

Supposedly it is supposed to factor in you performance as well as your win or loss, so maybe that is why some people just go for kills. However, I will lose with over 30 kills as a tank and a gold medal in healing and do really well, barely lose the other team, and lose way more progress than when I win, so it doesn't seem to me that it factors your individual performance at all.

I love competitve games and overwatch isn't really that toxic compared to csgo and lol. The only thing that makes me want to throw my poor deathadder at a wall is that when someone on the enemy team leaves you get almost no ELO.

I was loving competitive mode for a while, until toxic players came in. I also don't want to lose my ranking level.

Matches are pretty long and the sudden death feels bad, but it works.

Competitive for me has been pretty good so far, the worse I had was teams with no teamwork. Although I went against toxic players or leavers which makes it easy to win but pretty boring since there was a premade team of 5 and all of them left except one guy after the 1st round.

Agreed. Less Bastion makes it more enjoyable. Ironically, I use him when someone drops out and I notice my team seems like they're giving up. At least gives us a chance, but it takes the fun out of the match for me..

Originally I didn't wanna try it as I assumed it'd be full of toxic people/people who don't play like a team (like csgo MM), but a few of my friends are playing it without many issues so I plan on giving it a shot. Besides, who doesn't want golden weapons? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

For the love of all that is holy do not solo queue, queue with your friends, it will go much better, lol. When I queue with a little group we formed on Overwatch it is great but when I try to play ranked by myself it isn't pretty....

I actually got stomped by a really aggressive bastion on offense the other day..... some people are figuring him out.... he stayed out of turret mode till his team pushed us off the point and once they pushed us out he just went into turret on the point and there was nothing we could do, lol, but in general I do see him less, yes, which is wonderful.

Pretty much exactly how I play as him when necessary. Turret up behind a payload instead of on it. People always concentrate fire thinking the Bastion is on top of it. Works ridiculously well with a Reinhardt, but just isn't nearly as fun as playing as someone I'd rather use.

I usually get screwed by players that are not willing to change to a viable hero that will help the team. To often lately I get Junkrats that do not benifit the team but will not switch because they got a gold medal. I have found being rank 55, highest 58, that you cannot rely on teamates and have to play the hero that will benefit the team the greatest. Thats why i always fill. The toxic players also ruin it for me, most recent i had a guy telling me lucio isnt viable in competative...... I didnt fight him i just continued and the only healer on the team and we won.
