Hi guys, finally I have my core and have been using it with the reference rx 480 8gb on my blade stealth, but I dont know if im getting the right performance. For older games like battlefield 4 ultra runs smooth 60fps but Ive tried the doom demo 1080p ultra settings and I only get 30-32 fps, same thing happened with battlefield 1 open beta, it ranges from 30 -60, is this the performance the rx 480 gives, because I have seen videos on youtube with better frame rates not on the core or the stealth obviously. So if anyone has the same configuration as I do, please share your numbers here.

  2. The RX 480 performs somewhere between a GTX 970 and GTX 980 on a desktop system which means it's more than capable of handling any game right now at Ultra settings. Problems appear when hooked up to a Blade Stealth and playing games that are CPU heavy which I suspect is what you're seeing right now. That's not really the graphic card's fault. Games that rely more on the GPU you aren't going to see a large performance hit.

Thats what im assuming too, but would like to see if someone else is getting the same numbers.

i'd open the windows resource monitor while gaming and look how much % of the cpu is used, also it would be interesting to see if the cpu throttles down under heavy load

I use a 970 and I run Doom on Ultra at 60 (could be the demo has optimization issues since it isn't the full game?) and I run the Battelfield 1 beta on ultra as well in excess of 100 frames per second, so if the 480x truly performs inbetween a 970 or 980 then he definitely isn't getting the performance he should. The bottleneck is either with the CPU or the TB3 it would seem, or maybe its just a tiny bit of both but together they make a large enough difference.

But are you using the 970 with the core on a blade stealth?

no, desktop, I7 4790K. Which is why I suggested you have a bottleneck somewhere in my previous post.

How is 4k gaming on TV? Does video and audio out via hdmi or the gpu of the razer core works fine? Does it have frames cap? I mean do you get frames limit using the core gpu with hdmi out to tv? Do you think 1080 gtx and the core can give me 60fps in 4k resolution in my 78 uhd curved 4k samsung tv?
