There has been some recent speculation about a Razer Phone 2.

    Here
The speculation is that Razer will release another Razer phone, sooner than expected, in and/or around September. It is said that it would come alongside Project Linda:

The Razer mobile community here, doesn't seem to be as active, so I figured I'd bring a little conversation to it.
What would you all want for the next Razer phone? Like what would you want improved? What would you like to stay the same?

    Personally I would want:
    Camera
    • Better camera (hopefully an updated camera sensor, or the Sony IMX362 camera sensor such as in the HTC U11, or the Nexus 6p sensor -> Sony IMX 377. These should be pretty affordable to implement about now. I mean the HTC U11 itself came out at $649.99)
      • Better image processing for better images (Google uses lots of data, Hauwei uses AI)
      • Better HDR image processing (quicker, and better results of images taken with it)
      • Keep the f/1.85 (Apply it to both lenses)
    • I would like a wide-angle lens for the dual camera sensor instead of a telephoto.
      • With this I would like the same high quality camera sensors. LG had 2 Sony IMX258 camera sensors for it's dual camera setup for the G6.
    • OIS
    • Dual-pixel auto focus
    • Electronic Image Stabilization
    • Laser autofocus
    • Better front-facing camera lens (it's not bad, but I don't know why manufacturers don't focus on improving this sensor too)
      • Having the same hardware, software and autofocus tech on this camera would be dope too
    Design
    • Same design
    Bluetooth
    • Bluetooth 5
    • AptX HD
    Battery
    • Same 4,000mAh battery
    Audio
    • Better audio recording (The Razer is basically a media phone, so if it has great audio reproduction, what about great audio production to seal the deal?)
      • His-Res Audio recording (HTC U11 and LG V30 has it, I think that's the Razer phone biggest competition)
      • Noise cancellation mics

  2. well , project Linda is the best idea I have ever seen ,it looks like the nintendo switch but better .We must give respect to razer for this idea ,and if they manage to make it possible for project Linda with windows ...man I will be very happy about this. Just thing about a small screen on your razer laptop or on your razer keyboard where you can hold some info for the game you play or do other tasks .If razer made something like this pfff ...I will buy only from them forever.I want to see something like this from razer ... but the must realistic truth is that they try to hit the mobile players so this is why they make a second razer phone so soon.

Would be nice if Linda would actually have its own CPU or some sort of graphics card, so that razer phone could get some boost when connected.

First of I would hope that they do not drop support right away for the first Razer phone, it would be nice if they still support the people who brought the gen one product for a couple more years at least.

The Camera could use an improvement, and I have heard some issues with the vibrating motor or whatever it would be called in some models. The design right now is nice so I would keep it around the same (I would like the 1337 special units with a Chroma Razer Logo (jk, not needed :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:). I would like some kind of headphone jack equipped model too, but I understand if that is not possible for the bigger battery etc..

Also, I think it would be good if it came with some kind of earbuds, maybe the Hammerhead USB-C edition or the Hammerhead BT.

Edit: Happy 1,500 Post to me, never saw that coming :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This is all true. I could concur with all this too. Earbuds coming with it would be nice too.

Can you please explain this in detail? What about the software would you want to be improved specifically?

    A headphone jack.

    That being said...

I have to admit that talking about Razer 2 while still being at beta software and still feeling the emptiness in my wallet from its purchase SUCKS!

At this early point, I can't really judge the strengths and weakness of this phone yet to be able to give an informed opinion about how to improve on it for the 2nd generation.

My BIGGEST WORRY is that Razer will start concentrating on the 2nd generation very early and waaaay before fixing the 1rst gen problems. But, if they do that, it will kill their phone line since people are watching closely to see if that is exactly what Razer does in how they support their phones.

Actualy, Simply, no bugs? I can't call cause half time the receiver do not ear me. So... A phone you can't use as a phone.
Thx dongle with Razer adaro + netflix at lower volume give a really bad performance. Try It... When the phone do not crash or reboot by itself...
Battery Life is good, but others with a minor battery last longer...
    Camera app is... Crap.
Lots off software work to do.

Totally agree. For that I have changed It for a pixel 2.

  12. I would like to see a Robin 2. In other words, a solid mid-range phone for those of us that don't wanna shell out big bucks for a new phone. They can even keep the Nextbit name if they don't want to dilute the Razer name with lower end hardware. I'm sure there are synergies from developing 2 models such as production contracts, volume sourcing of common components, software development, etc.

The same was said about Nextbit with the Robin.

Not sure if they'll do so. But they definitely flubbed on the camera and got a lot of major backlash (big tech reviewers like MKBHD, and others), so it may push them to do so.

The phone itself seems like a beta test. But because I felt like they make some great partnerships to include some great things in the 1st Razer phone, I feel the successor will be everything we want without any compromises (if they listen).

Replacing android with Razer's own operating system.

Currently the Razer Phone is like a ten million dollar car in the hands of someone with no driving license.

Come with snapdragon 845 that already being rumored, the new Adreno inside it seems a bad boy that hard to skip in a Razer Phone...and three colors options green gold or silver for every area!! (It’s the main reason I didn’t buy it;)), though if they can fit backlight logo it isn’t needed. And waiting main thread title change to “Razer phone now with Snapdragon 945 and chroma lightning”, about camera, Audio, Display, vibrating systems things idk because I never have it but I go with all improvements.

    Right.

I just know how smartphone companies work, they're more than likely already working on the successor slightly before the predecessor release, or slightly after. Smartphone's typically release in an annual cycle.

But I would like them to fix the software, more so for the camera. But to be honest, I have very little faith in that. Other than that, I don't have any issues.

Still waiting for that 60fps, 120Hz, and slow motion video capture update. Also, still waiting for Android O.
