Windows 8, yay or nay?

Is an upgrade to windows 8 worth yet or not?

  1. Yes

  2. Step away from OS, its not worth it, brah!

  1. Switched to Win 8.1 a few days ago and I don't regret it in the slightest. Just remove the metro screen (unless you want to actually use it) and use the ClassicShell. It's just like Win 7 but boots much faster and seems like it's much more responsive overall. (might be placebo though?)

Not at all. Win8 is actually much faster than Win7, it is more stable and is lighter on the hardware.
  3. Good to know that it isn't a placebo. I'm very happy with Win 8.1 and can only recommend it to others. A switch from 7 to 8.1 might not be worth it though as it's not a significant difference (like it's faster but not "WOW" faster) and if you don't have a legitimate copy of Win 8.1 lying around, it's not worth switching. (unless you're okay with piracy) :)

Win8 gets far too much hate for no reason. the speed alone is well worth whatever downsides people see in it.

8.1 is so much better then 7. I had many issues with 7, but not one with 8.1!
8 was big crap, but 8.1 is perfect and 10 will be the next step!

It's a bit of a moot point since Win10 is out in a couple months, but yea. 8.1 is excellent, no reason not to use it.

Well I guess it's ok, I mean Windows is always going to be updating stuff so I guess it's a good idea to stay up to date with their new software.
