I plugged in a USB hard drive and the Sila sees it in the web backend, but I don't see it mapped anywhere. It's not discoverable in my network, and I don't find it when I search for the network name. The FTP IP address assigned is simply the admin panel IP so that's not so helpful. Where should I be looking for this drive to pop up?

    Thanks!

    Hi,
Before you start sharing the storage drive, I suggest that you go to “Network Sharing Password” to change the password for enhanced security.
There are 2 methods of accesing the storage, you can either use FTP app or directly access via internet browser by keying ftp://192.168.8.1, then key in the password to access the storage.
Alternatively, your PC OS system must support Samba’s SMB like window 8, 10 etc.

May I know which OS your system is operating at?

Yep, I can see it via FTP now. I'm using Windows 10 Pro. I figure I'd be able to see it as a mountable network share. Something akin to //NetwrkShareName/ or the like. Yes?

I am using usmg Window 10, and able to see the mouted folder under share netwrok.
I suspect there is some setting in window 10 pro setting to enable the viewing of folder like sharing.
we’ll come back to you on this after consulting with our IT expert.

Apologize for getting back to you late. After consulting with our IT expert, here are the steps you need to do :

    a. Enable your network sharing on your PC

    https://www.dummies.com/computers/o...-and-configure-sharing-options-in-windows-10/

    b. Enable SMB client on your PC
    1.Open Control Panel.
    2.Click on Programs.
    3. Click on Turn Windows features on or off link.4.Expand the SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support option.
    5. Check the SMB 1.0/CIFS Client option.
    6.Click the OK button.
    7.Click the Restart now button.

    https://www.windowscentral.com/how-access-files-network-devices-using-smbv1-windows-10

    c. After system restart, go folder menu, select My PC and on the top menu select "Add a Network Location"

    d. Follow through the steps per attached images

    e. Now you should be able to see your storage appear on the left menu of My PC folders.
