Be warned, razer comms right now is quite sensitive to noise. My friend was using his com speaker and i could hear it.

Most people / guilds in games I've played previously were always either on Team Speak or Ventrilo (especially for World of Warcraft!) and both were decent - my preference is Team Speak between the two :)

More recently on FFXIV and League of Legends, I use Comms or GameVox.

Well that's a shame but we'll still give it a shot most of my mates are Headset and Earphone users. Thanks for the heads up!

For less than 3 people: Viber chat on desktop
For more than 4 people: only TS

I use curse because all of my friends have it and I can also pair it with my twitch and youtube accounts to build my fan base.

I'm accomodating so I'm using whatever my friends/guilds are using. Meaning I have a bunch of apps on my pc and smartphone.

As an old timer, I come from MSN, ICQ etc era, so I do prefer Skype which have the most of my contacts in. Though I also still have IRC for my oldest and geekest buddies. Skype calls with only one person is alright, using it constantly to keep in touch with my long-distance relationship and we're fine with it. Wouldn't trust it for group calls though, I don't know why.

For games, I use mostly TS, but mumble got his share over years and I'm trying Discord recently which looked fairly nice. Razer Comms didn't get my fancy since it caused my pc some memory troubles.

I don't have that much random apps on my smartphone, but probably half of it is communication apps, if I'm quickly browsing it I have skype, steam, viber, messenger, whatsapp, line, tango, snapchat, wechat installed. Having buddies around the world makes it necessary as they all have different favorite app, wechat can even serve to pay your bills in China.

Nowadays games I believe comes with a built in chat too. I am still trying to figure out how third party chats might add value, any idea?

Skype, Teamspeak and Razer Comms is usually what I use. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I use Skype because of auto background noise removal for my friends who dont have good mics. I use Razer Comms if I am chatting with a large group and need to consistently switch in and out of the program. I only use TeamSpeak when its for a server or something like that.
