For those who might be interested, I downloaded Doom on my Razer Blade Stealth + Core + GTX 1070

I was worried that I wasn't going to get good performance as for Borderlands 2 I only get around 80-120fps.

I cranked it all up to Ultra and was running consistently on 80 -100fps @ 1080p
Weirdly it would drop to about 60 on the cut scenes.

Holy [email protected] its a fun game though. Makes me wonder why I took so long to download.

it is a very new concept so i think it will get better over the next generations and driver updates. maybe for the next core dual thunderbolt would be an improvement.
Love borderlands by the way, and also doom

Dual Thunderbolt- Now that would be an interesting development

Borderlands was probably the most fun co-op game i have played. Doom is just insanely good fun. Wasnt expecting that at all

I've read that Doom should be a very cpu demanding game, did you experience any thermal problems with your cpu?

I didn't see any massive spikes in temp I was running Core temp and it spiked at 76C

I had the laptop on the stand

The only draw back I had was that its installed on an external harddrive, and not the good kind. Loading screens took a while sometimes. Need to upgrade to some SSD urgently

that explains a lot. But also, The better the GPU the better the CPU has to be to send it all those frames. So eventually there will be 0 to less difference between a 1080 and the new titan in the core for example

What resolution? External display or back to the internal display?
Did you notice any input lag?
Do you have any other games installed?

I'd love to see more FPS, especially on shooters.

At the moment I have two 1080p ,monitors @ 60HZ I also run the laptop screen as well and dont turn any off to play games. Just run them on one of the externals.

I am probably not good enough to notice any input lag, all my usb peripherals are plugged into the RBS via a hub. I havent noticed any sort of lag but like I said I am not sure how severe it would have to be before I noticed it

At the moment I really only have older games.

    Assassins Creed 4
    Borderlands 2
    Batman Arkham City
    Doom
    and Dead Space 2

If I can figure out a way to record I might post some vids

    Forgot to add the FPS.

AC4 only gets 60 as it has a limit that I cant remove
Borderlands can range from 70-150 depending on whats going on the screen

I will check the others and post

    Thanks for that!

If you're using an nvidia card, the GeForce drivers have a FPS counter as well as recording tool in GeForce Experience, included in the driver.

The trick is to start G-Force Experience, then go to "shadow play", and click the proverbial switch on the screen to enable FPS.

Yeah, I had it all up on screen but couldnt get it to record, the shotcut keys werent registering. I thought it might be a conflict with Steam's own ones

I read the title and thought you were predicting that the stealth was going to fail, I feel silly now =p
