Would be very nice to have some lighting on the function keys. I haven't quite memorized where the are and have to get my phone out to go hunting for them in the dark. =/

Hi there! I spend most of my time in Japan these days, but I do indeed miss Seattle. It would be nice if I were still living stateside so I wouldn't need my parents to bring all my Razer orders to me when they visit, lol. =P

I like the newer font much better and hope they keep the font for their new keyboards that come out.

Actually Murakumo, the new BW Ultimate does indeed have a lit function key and space bar. However, the symbols for the secondary modes of the number row and function row are still unlit because of technical issues - the LED is placed above the mechanical switch, so the mechanical switch and key cap stem get in the way of transmitting light to the lower part of the key cap. I suspect this is why Razer has yet to light them up :anger:.

A custom switch design combined with centered LEDs is Steelseries' idea to fix this problem:

So they are able to have centered text and glowing symbols.

I can't see Razer releasing Keycaps as much as i'd like them too

People will buy full new keyboards for it i;m sure (of course there will be other additions to new keyboards)

I'd love to be wrong though

It's ok, they will release the keycaps after the new keyboard sales start to slow down :wink_:

I have that keyboard and I have to say, it's vary smooth and conferrable but if the key cap breaks you can't replace it unless you want to RMA the entire keyboard. The lighting is noticeable I'm comparison to other RGB keyboard, but it doesn't make a difference as far as I can tell. The SteelSeries keycap has a lower sensitivity/travel time but no tactical feedback if you like switches like that.

Forget fonts, you should know where your keys are anyways. Blank translucent caps!
oh, and good luck with the non standard bottom row if you want custom caps.

Hah, is your board? Looks pretty sweet. I'm not too big a fan myself of the translucent keycaps. Jeez, what is up with that spacebar - it looks like it has 8 stems lol. What switches are you using?

Personally I really want one of these in brown:
Hot damn...so sexy. Dare I say sexier than my BlackWidow.

It's a Team Wolf Void Ray. I can change the switch without soldering. It came with Outemu blue switches and I changed them to Gateron brown. If Cherry switches were better priced I could install Cherry RGB switches.

That's crazy. Wasn't aware that they made solderless interchangeable switchboards, but I assume they only work with Cherry MX-like switches. How much did that build cost? Have to admit that's pretty cool though...always wanted to try clear switch housing. Would make it easy to customize the keyboard to have different switches for different keys. Mass Void Ray rush!!!

Team Wolf make a TKL named Zhuque, and the full size RGB keyboard is named Void Ray. The price on the Zhuque is between $60~$70 USD but it is not RGB, the Void Ray is about $90 comes with blue outemu switches, +cost of additional switches. They have to be RGB switches, so there's a couple of brands that carry those: Outemu, Cherry, Gateron, maybe more.

It's available on Massdrop, and Amazon US. I got it on Massdrop as I wanted switches too and Massdrop offered a combo with 120 Gateron RGB switches for less than buying the switches on ebay.
Keyboard with blue switches preinstalled: $90
    120 Gateron brown: $30
    Black translucent keycaps: $26
    3x120 MX springs: $20

What's nice is I get the benefits of a DIY without having to DIY and actually a lot easier than DIY.
    • Mix switch colors on different keys
    • Easily mod switches and try them out
    • Easily replace switches that chatter too much or have inconsistent click
    • Easily remove the switch for cleaning/lubing

Can the font be downloaded as a TTF ?. It could be interesting to use it to write....

That would be interesting indeed... try explaining that lower case R to your English professor when you turn in your term paper.
