I know the Razer edge didn't get enough sales. I was extremely sad when they posted it EOL, and my only chance of getting the docking station was through eBay for $700. -_- I would like to hear from anyone at razer as to why the edge has gone Eol, if for any other reason then sales. Also is there a future to the edge or is it gone forever :slightly_sad:

I have an edge pro and I love it. I am able to carry around an entire gaming rig in my little messenger bag. I think the Edge was a great option. I would have loved a blade but there was roughly a thousand dollar difference and so I went with the Edge. If they were to update it I would certainly want a more sensitive screen so stylus would work on it and art programs would be easier to use. But improvements I would want aside, I love my edge. When I first got it I immediately found a highly demanding game on steam just to see if it could run it (I picked metal gear rising: revengeance and it absolutely could). I was blown away that I was playing full PC games while just sitting in my arm chair. That was 6 months ago yet my edge still continues to amaze me. I have an epic setup with my desktop and xbox in a friends basement. However when I can't be there I recently set up my edge on another monitor I happened to come by via the edge docking station and I have another complete desktop experience running off this little 10.1 " box. I can carry a gaming rig with me anywhere, and play great games on the go with my sabertooth attached, as well as set up an entire desktop experience via the docking station, all for considerably less than a blade. I think it is a great option that needs to come back.

    agreed. 100%

Razer: you need to bring back an improved edge, and maybe keep it about the same price!

I think a Refresh would be nice, with a better touch screen. i just want some more accessories like a docking station and the keyboard dock put together

I already had my desktop PC, my laptop and the Nook HD+ so I never felt like I could justify buying the Edge as well. However, I'm really surprised it didn't do better than it did, I truly felt it filled a need in the market.

Although it was only launched in the US, from what i believe, it was probably an evolution in terms of gaming- brining gaming to a whole next level. However, I do agree that the price was a little too high. Perhaps having it cheaper would be better.

Cheaper price comes with cheaper parts I wouldnt be willing to sacrifice power to have a cheaper tablet but I guess 2 models can be made higher end better parts lower end cheaper parts

It doesn't necessarily need to be cheaper parts in regards to quality -- just maybe one with max end parts and one with midline parts in regards to processing power, RAM, HD space, etc.

RAM is a big factor when playing games, especially with mobile games. HD is a good feature as it makes the game feel more real. Having a thin gaming platform is a great idea, which means that you could game on the go. But having a laptop ( 14" blade pro ) is more of an ideal item to carry around, since it is very versatile and functional.

If they don't bring back the edge, then I would love for Razer to make their own dock for the Surface. Hopefully by that time it will have thunderbolt and the razer dock could house a full size graphics card.

I enjoyed the edge. I had the fully equipped model with all accessories. The big problem for me was that it wasn't really portable. The keyboard dock, gamepad, power adapter, and edge itself was really heavy to lug around in a backpack. The system had decent specs and could run most games at medium to high setting while keeping good frame rates however the battery life was terrible. If I used the system at home it was decent as I could just plug in. But then I found that at home it was easier to use my desktop. I purchased the system for about $2200 and ended up selling the combo for $1950 on e-bay. I ended up using that money to upgrade my video card and purchasing the shield portable. This gave me the best of all worlds. Portable PC gaming along with Android gaming and much better battery life.

I would certainly not support another edge.

What if the new "Edge" was a hybrid 2x1 tablet/laptop? Think MacBook Air 11, with the screen removable and usable as a tablet.

The form factor would be MUCH smaller and less bulky. Thoughts?

With the newer GPU's and CPU's that take less power it is possible to fix the battery issues and reduce size/weight. If the form factor was reduced down in size comparable to the surface 3 but with an I7 and a new Mobile GPU then it might be worth exploring. For me however I just don't think price for performance would make it worth it. Playing PC games on the go with Nvidia streaming is working great for me on the 2 Nvidia shield products.

I will say I was sooo upset when I could no longer get accessories for my Edge Pro. I gave Razer so much money for them to basically turn around and say oh well. I love Razer as a company and their products but I have an edge pro with nothing.... No controller no laptop base no docking station. If NOTHING else I would LOVE to have a docking station to hook it up to my main TV and be able to watch digital movies or Amazon prime stuff with it on top of steam gaming. I understand the difficulty of keeping something like thid around when competition in the small mobile gaming world can be tough but the customers that do have an Edge or Edge Pro would probably LOVE to have some accessories or additional support just saying =)

  18. yea too bad... they cant bring it to asia due to limited stocks and other reasons, hope they can do something about the huge bezel of the tablet, have a 860m 4 gb for full HD resolution (updated or next gen hardware specs for recommended smooth gameplay), the gamepad controller buttons could have improve on the tactile buttons something like the xbox 1 controller, the battery could have at least almost 2 hours of gameplay (depending on the recommended locked spec settings) as for the docking station its cool but looks a bit flimsy (no criticism intended but still a great design) could have better reinforced design so that it wont fall off easily,,

I think there should be a less powerful cheaper thinner edge. That's why I didn't get one when it came out because I couldn't justify it.

  20. its due to the price and the specs configurations but the way u look it yep its pricy and paying it for the premium product itself...
