    Hi guys,

having an issue with my Firefly, I've had it about 6 or so months, but when i originally got it, there wasn't even an option to configure my 2014 Naga to calibrate to the firefly's surface, it was a bit jerky and having always traditionally used 'control' style surfaces and cloth mats, I wound up putting a cloth mat on top of it (yes yes I know, kinda defeats the point, but eh).

Fast forward to recently, I took the cloth mat off the other day and had a play around with it, I've calibrated my mouse to the firefly via the synapse option, set DPI down to 1800 and all seems well for a few games, it's a little bit jerky every now and then, but I figure I'll get used to it.

HOWEVER! I have noticed that there is a huge 'dead zone' along the top of the mat, where if my mouse gets close to it, it will begin to slow down, until it stops responding altogether.

This is immensely frustrating as it's not exactly a huge mouse surface to begin with, as I'm sure most people will understand.

Now, I have read about some fireflys being 'uneven' and warped.. mine doesn't seem to suffer from that (as far as I can tell) the top of the board where the cord connects doesn't really move at al if i press down on it, and again the whole bottom of the mouse mat seems fine, it works perfectly if I don't use its actual surface with the cloth mat laid atop of it..

Anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem could be? I much prefer cloth mats, but of course the cloth version wasn't around when i first bought it so xD immensely frustrating as I've basically never really used it beyond the LED effects..

To update, got home this evening, and having used my trusty Deathadder and my exact mat all day at work, I've sat down and can now notice three distinct bumps in the mat, vertical, one directly central coming down from the part where the wire connects, and one either side.

the 'dead area' coincides with where these bumps are, it's really noticeable towards the top, less so further down.

Have tested it with a lacheris, and it's the same effect, there's an unusual 'raise' in certain parts of the mat which makes it cut out.

Annoyingly, turning it upside down and using the rubber side on the underneath of it and the mat actually performs better than the proper side does!

have contacted razer support, yet to get back to me (only been about 6 hours or so) though as this was received as a gift last year, I've got no sales recepit, so think this might end up a throw away, blargh!

No response from razer yet, but having gotten a Firefly roughly six months ago, there's little to no chance that I'd buy another one at this point! I'd rather go back to the mat I got free with wow, lol.

If cloth version had been available then I might've asked for that instead of the hard surface, but as is I'm stuck either it for the time being.

I'm hoping that given the amount of issues they've had with the mats, they may allow me to send it in to be repaired or something.
