I've been wanting a really good version of the Mamba for a while, when Razer was teasing the Lancehead, me and a lot of other people had their hopes up that it would be a Mamba elite or a wireless deathadder, instead we got the Lancehead, which isn't a bad mouse, but from what I've heard, they stuck with a 5g lazer sensor for some reason, which everyone and their dog knows is flawed and not suitable for competitive play, instead of going with a better optical sensor, or just doing what I thought would happen when I saw the specs for the TE model, which is take the Lancehead TE, cut off the cord and add wireless features, keeping very similar hardware, shape, weight and size. Now I realize they probably had their reasons for taking this approach, weather it be cost, weight, or mass production, but I feel like they could have gone a little bit further on this one.
As for the Lancehead TE, I feel like they nailed almost every part of it. I has great specs, cool lighting, feels good to hold, affordable price, and most of all, it actually delivers on the promise that so many other mice seem to fall short on, being able to deliver a great competitive gaming experience. The Deathadder is still my go to mouse, but from the time I've spent with the Lancehead TE, I'm very happy with it, which is why I wish they had just cut the cord off for the wireless version because the TE is almost perfect, and it's ambidextrous, which is just an added bonus if your a lefty.
