Has anyone had a change to test it with the Stealth? I'm sure the Blade is able to do wonders with the Core, but the Stealth worries me a tiny bit.
    Thanks

What worries you? Regardless of what kind of performance hit you get because of the cpu, its still going to be light years ahead of the integrated graphics.

Great. I hope to hear that supports GTX 10 series soon.

Well, the Core is not particularly cheap, so if the performance hit is too great, it may be a better idea to get a desktop PC instead.

I guess it worries me that all my hope and dreams won't be met, :sleepy:

I just made an unboxing video here(https://insider.razerzone.com/index.php?threads/razer-core-unboxing.13968/) and I'm trying to get my old Radeon HD 7870 running in it. I completely forgot to charge my Stealth last night, but I should have news later.

Oh, I guess if you are deciding between the two, sure. But If you are looking to have an ultraportable laptop that can handle ome games at low detail and then be able to play most other games at decent frames/detail then the stealth/core combo is a winner. I personally got the stealth because of its form factor. I have a gaming desktop already, but am interested in the core because I'm a tech junkie lol

  9. Thank you so much for a video! This brings me to a, some what, big issue for me @razer ...THE USB C CABLE IS ONLY 1FT! That is not long enough for the setup plans that I had. I need a cable that is at least 3-6FT long. Like a (somewhat) typical PC setup, my tower (or in this case Razer Core), will be in a cubby-hole in my desk, my laptop will be on a laptop stand on my desk, then it will be connected to my 2x 24" monitors from the Core. Can you not supple a longer cable @razer?!

Even if there isn't any GPU bottle-necking, it probably isn't going to be a 1:1 comparison for a desktop. This is really supposed to be tailored towards people who want an ultraportable system, but also want to come home and just use one computer to play games - at least that's why I bought a stealth. Regardless if I don't get 100% desktop speeds out of a GTX 1070, desktop graphics are still going to slaughter anything available in mobile. All of this said, ThunderBolt 3 should handle the bandwidth of a GTX 1080 no problems.

I know some of the mods / Razer employee's have been watching this thread, - Anything you can tell us about when ordering is going to open up again? It seems like all the pre-orders have been shipped out. Even if it's another pre-order, I would love to at least secure something for the next round of shipping.

Longer cables cannot provide the same 40Gb/s speed for maximum performance, at least that's what I heard.

Exactly, look up the TB3 cable specs, longer active cables will be available soon, but there is still a limit for copper cables.

  14. By increasing the cable length by 24-48" the bandwidth loss would be minimal. You can run cat5 cable 300+ft before it has any signal loss. I'm not saying that you could extend the length of the cable that much nor that this is the same exact principle, but you should be able to extend it up to 6ft without issues.

I feel you on that problem. I was hoping to have my Core on the right side of desk(so I could see the graphics card working) but i had to switch it to the left side.
I had some time with my friends GTX 980 last night(setup the drivers for real benchmarks this weekend) but I was able to use the Core and the RBS screen to play Dark Souls 3 at 2k and hold close to 55fps. That being said, I'll have real benchmarks up this weekend, using the RBS screen(2k resolution), and a BenQ 144hz screen(1080p resolution).

Sounds fairly good to me. Can't wait to see results on the Blade 14".

so there doesn't exist a cable over 1.6 ft that can hold the 40gb/s the next bigger is 20 gb/s. check the interwebs, none to be found.

Core just arrived here in Seattle, WA. I ordered in the second wave back in March.

Can't wait to get home and test it. This thing looks gorgeous - multiple coworkers commented that the build quality justified the premium price tag in their eyes.

    ...Now about that performance ;)

the people who design and build these for a living can't do it yet, but it'll work fine because you say so. as of RIGHT NOW anything past the .5m cable cuts the data in HALF.
