Synapse 3 adds a bunch of new things including HyperShift (Pretty much more macros), and the chroma studio is much improved from the Chroma Studio that is on Synapse 2. It also changes the wave effect of some devices among being more user friendly as such, but it does have some bugs and issues since it is in Beta. A list of products supported by Synapse 3 right now can be found here.

If you do not have products supported by the new version of synapse yet you need to use Synapse 2 still, but if all of your products are supported by Synapse 3 you can uninstall Synapse 2 and move over.

If you have products that are supported by Synapse 3 but you also have some that are not yet, you can use them both at the same time. You might need to go back into the Synapse 3 installer and repair it after it is installed and or update it so the products move to Synapse 3. When they show up in Synapse 3, they should no longer show up in Synapse 2. If that doesn't work, you can uninstall Synapse 2 while you install Synapse 3, and then when everything is on Synapse 3 go ahead and reinstall Synapse 2.

Doing that does use up more system power, so if you run on a slower or older system I would just stay with Synapse 2 for now until everything you own is supported on Synapse 3. Synapse 2 will continue to work just fine, even if you uninstall Synapse 3 if you do not like it. You just might need to reinstall Synapse 2 then though so everything comes back.

"@Min-Liang Tan gives an official statement about this unacceptable situation !"

@mltan seems not to care about unsatisfied customers ?

It would be nice if Razer bothered to include support for all their products under Synapse 3 at this point. A headset stand with RGB lighting has Synapse 3 support while the headsets that would rest upon this stand don't. That doesn't make much sense.

Yes, and all those trendy goods functions like lighting and so on can wait, until elementary driver und key functionalities and performance are stable. Razer concentrate on the important features !

Look at his tweets, you don't find any critical entry. Only the wonderful flower power color world of Razer hype.
I think, you can forget it, critics not welcome, as true they might be !

the latest synapse update made my orbweaver go bonkers. it spits out random garbage and in extreme cases has trashed projects i've been working on.

i've just unplugged it. i don't want to deal with support. i'm not angry, honestly... it's just not worth the time. i have an old x-keys that i'll fire up again. it's not pretty, but it does what it says on the tin.

razer has utterly disappointed me in every way. i bought the RBP17 as a media workstation and the support has made that an impossibility.

it would seem the company is so focused on phones and things people didn't ask for that they're unable to make the things they've already built work properly. i so wanted to be a fan and endorse them for professional video work (my livelihood) but they're more interested in gamer dollars. that's where the money is, i get it.

it's just super, SUPER short-sighted, and disappointing.

Between, Synapse 3 not working and the Privacy policy stating that Razer can keep track of your keystrokes, websites you go to, IP Address, Geolocation, I wish I never baught a Razer mouse.

I should have got one from another company. Keep your Skyware & Keylogging and give me a program that actually works.

I decided to give the Wolverine Ultimate gamepad a try this week to see if the 6 extra buttons could be used for more than just duplicating the other buttons on the gamepad when used on the PC. They can't. Not only that, but the gamepad requires yet ANOTHER version of Synapse to be installed in order to configure both the buttons and the RGB lighting on it. What the hell is wrong with Razer? It's bad enough to have to still deal with running both Synapse 2 and 3 at the same time even though everything should have been moved over to 3 at this point, but to force another version of this app on to users that does the same thing as the previous versions is just absurd. I've returned the gamepad.
