We're LIVE at GDC displaying some awesome stuff from the Razer Nabu X to the #OSVR and we're pleased to announce today, the open beta for Razer Chroma Lighting SDK.

Help unleash the true potential of the Razer Chroma lighting-enabled Razer peripherals with the Razer Chroma Lighting SDK. Developers can now integrate their games with the advanced lighting system to create a deeper, more immersive gaming experience. Have the lighting on the Razer BlackWidow Chroma indicate the health and mana bar in game, or have it react to in-game scenarios such as when your base is under attack. Whether they be game-integration or standalone apps, the only limit is your creativity.

We'll be showing you some cool things you can do with the Chroma SDK over these few days. Keep a lookout.

The Razer Chroma Lighting SDK is now in open beta and free to download for everyone:

Does the chroma SDK currently support the Original Naga Epic?
  7. Hello Sigoshi,
As per the developer portal site we are putting the finishing touches on support for the Naga Epic Chroma edition. This 2014 release added updated ergonomics and mechanical thumb grid buttons, check it out!

Hey Vldianos. The SDK is primarily set towards those with development experience. You'll be able to download and use apps that developers have made in the very near future, here on Insider.

thats cool and I congratulate you, but im not asking about the "updated" version, I'm asking about the original naga epic, which obviously many people do already own, and purely by age, probably even more people than the new one. do you currently support its lighting with this sdk, and if not, when can we expect it to be added?

I'd imagine that only the Chroma range would be supported.

That doesn't make any sense though. I'm certain there are more owners of the naga epic than the new naga who would greatly benifit from this. softwarewise, an LED is still an LED, so there shouldn't be any significant hurdle with adding the original version. The only significant problem that I see is that I know that my epic is fairly slow to update it's LED coloring if i change colors while it's wireless, but since the chroma also has a wireless option, that shouldn't be an issue.

This is not something I will ever toy with myself, but I'm very excited to see what other can do with it. :)

I've been waiting for this since I bought my sexy keyboard last year. Now if I could only understand how to use the darn SDK as I keep crashing my attempts at rewriting the clock one.

Any plans on kraken chroma support? Is it being worked on or is the "coming soon" just a label?

Hey, i've got a question about the SDK. I've tinkered around with the sample RazerClock one and got it to do change the colour of the numbers when the second is at 11,22,33,44 and 55. My question is, is there a way that i can sort of link or use the program with synapse? or must synapse be closed in order to use the program.

I'm fairly sure Razer will implement the SDK into Synapse so that you don't need to close it every time.
