And sort out there QA dept !!

    Observation #1:
I had Synapse (up to date) for my Core V1 + RBS i7 4K
After connecting the Core V2 for the first time and authorising it via Thunderbolt Software it prompted me to update Synapse after the Core V2 was detected. Up to this point the fans were quite.

After updating Synapse for V2 and then followed by another Framework update, that when I noticed the fans going Nuts

    Observation #2:
The fans are always high speed after a full OS reboot.

    Observation #3:
After waking from sleep OR connecting the Core to the RBS, the fans are almost idle for around a minute, and then they Rev up.

    Semi Conclusion:
Currently this points towards a software "bug" or at least something that can be resolved by software, IMO

I know I sound like a stuck record by now, but why in the hell isn't the fan noise consistent? It has a regular, 2 second duration spin up sound to it. I've never experienced anything like it before in cooling solutions.

    Please fix this, Razer!

Huh, I didnt know that since I updated before installing the gpu. So it is something that was broken with an update. I can’t believe razer said they can’t fix it. It’s outrageous that they say they can’t fix it. Wish there was some way to talk to people higher up than the regular support droids.

The good news is some enterprising hacker could probably fix it, especially if they have both old rom and upsdate rom to compare...

(OT but was planning to buy the razer phone for xmas, going to get a newer Xperia instead mainly because of the razer QC shitshow)

I have a question. Will it run on a non razer laptop with thunderbolt and windows 10?

Yes but not as simple as Razers laptops, tried my Yoga 720 to get connected with the Core (not mine), it was quite take a time, installing and updating drivers, reboot and try again etc, but yes it could run after you figured it by searching on web.

I have not forgotten, I just haven't had time. I'll actually try to get you a firestrike score on Wed! :)

Edit: Actually I have a question, anyone that owns the new quad-core RBS thats hooked up to the v1/v2 core. How is it running for you? Just curious if the Quad-core helps with the CPU demanding games or if their is much difference.

Are you talking about core-fans or graphic-cards-fans?

Here’s similar gpu with stealth hooked with 1070, not bad it passed my 1060 Blade heaven score easily, I think 40% CPU performance bump brought extra score compared 7500U (I think it was slightly better than my score), but due low voltage CPU that couldn’t keep cpu performance on top peak made Min FPS is better on mine.

The 3 60mm fans on the bottom. They go NUTS even when the machine is cool, but this is temporarily fixable. I put a video a few pages back but I'll link to it again:

    I think
I think my Blade14 sound is louder under stress test, it was around 52dB (smartphone laid directly on hand rest area). Though on idle is dead silent.

Thank you for the videos. I also think my Blade Stealth is louder on high load.

Hi, I am thinking about getting razer stealth (quad core) + core v2 + gtx 1060 to play some games. However, I've read a lot of mixed reviews about CPU bottlenecking and subsequently the underwhelming performance of the rig. Are there games that you guys have tried that could not be run with this expensive setup (i.e., less than 30FPS)?

I went into great detail asking the same thing here . Although I have the setup , I was curious about the Quad-core. Now to answer your question. I believe you just move up a category to a 1070 if its affordable.

This is an already "out of the way" setup for the cost you have to pour into to just making it a great function at home while having the portability. I have a Dual-core with the V2 core and a 1070TI and it runs wonderfully! I have no complaints. So the quad-core should do you a lot of justice for the CPU dependent games. The key word "should", and thats why I made a thread on it to see who out there has this setup. But if anything I can at least tell you for the set up that I have, it runs fine and right now there is a good sale for that 12.5 dual core if it matters and you are willing to pull the trigger.

I have been more than satisfied with the performance but I don't play games. If you are considering this setup for gaming you should just buy the 14" Blade with built-in GTX1060. Not only for performance or cost reasons, but because it is much more convenient. It is hardly bigger than the 13" Stealth, although you lose the ability to charge with USB-C supplies (and gadgets like power banks etc).

You get an all-in-one device that you can take with you and play games (even on the sofa for example, not practical with the stealth+core). You don't have to worry about connecting/disconnecting the GPU which invariably requires a whole bunch of extra reboots even if you do everything correctly.

However, you do get a convenient docking station and the ability to plug in lots of displayport monitors. And charging with a USB-C adapter is very nice (also because the included charger I can also use on my phone and switch)

@Joikansai , you asked and you shall receive. A couple things here that might alter the test? I have the Egpu going through my external monitor that is 1080p but I do have my laptop open, not shut. So it might be running at 4k testing? Not sure. Let me know if that makes a difference and I'll run again soon!

3dmark free version usually run at 1080p, I tested with my old QHD+ Blade, the screen goes to 1080p idk 100% though, but I think I can say that low CPU score effected the score, I saw on Lisa (mobiletech)review, xiaomi Pro with same CPU scores (timespy) over 3000, that’s with low end dGPU mx150. I have similar mx150 notebook with 7200U, and in Fire Strike overall score i got 2500 VS 3000 on her laptop.
Actually I’m curious about performance difference between internal and external monitor on Razer Core V2, has it a big difference on V2? I heard somewhere, maybe subreddit a V2 User said the difference isn’t big which brought my interest (they solved pipelines issues on nowaday eGPU if it’s true)

Thats kinda why I was curious if it altered with my laptop being open and not shut. I've seen on different review sites that the external screen will typically out perform the notebook on its own with the Core. The test on youtube vids always shows the notebook is closed. So back to the original question, I'm curious if thats a internal screen testing vs an external screen testing. I'll have to go back and check it out later.

Yeah, also not understanding the FPS. I easily make 60-90 FPS in a middle of an epic HotS match and nothing less than 30 according the Razer cortex/nvidia in game FPS tracker. Yet on the Benchmarks its 20-30. With that being said it probably is running the 4k monitor. At least its what I'm guessing.
