should i get a rx460? or the gtx 1050? funds are limited so these are my choices as everything else seems way over priced.

You'll probably get many answers for both, it's mostly going to come down to preference and what's important to you. I prefer nVidia cards myself, mostly because I'm comfortable with the cards and software. The time I tried an AMD card I couldn't get used to it. If you're used to AMD cards you might feel more comfortable sticking with them.

otherwise I'd check out some benchmarks, perhaps google and see if there are any direct comparisons and go from there, see which looks best for your needs

Get the RX460/560 with 4G RAM or pay a little bit more and get a 1050Ti

The 1050 with it's 2G is not a good choice, unless you are only playing some light online titles.

Me personally, I would kick in the extra money for the GTX 1080, I always want the best of the best maybe that's the reason why I'm drowning in credit card debt! lol

But since you already indicated that you have limited funds get the 1050 since its in the same family. You can never go wrong with NVidia IMO.

Wait for Vega. It's coming out soon. It may even lower the prices for the Gtx 1050 ti. Also apparently Graphics cards are a lot more expensive now due to cypto-currency mining so it may be better to wait a while.

yes, crypto miners are raising gddr5 gpu prices, especially in low-middle price.
But is only AMD gpu problem for now
Now 1050Ti i the best price/value gpu avaiable
