So.... I did a bad thing. I spilt my drink on my mouse and broke it. Fortunately, I still had my cheap wireless mouse. Any recommendations on what new mouse i should get? I don't really have a budget and mostly play FPS' or Minecraft Mod-packs.
  2. What drink was it? Anyways, what kind of grip do you have? If you have a claw grip I'd get a Taipan, if you have a palm grip with the Deathadder. If you want to spend some more money you could go for the Ouroborous instead of the Taipan, and the Mamba instead of the Deathadder. I've played FPS with both Taipan and Deathadder and they both worked fine. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them for you.

It was a Coke by the way...
  6. Oh well, good luck with that. Coke is used to clean toilet bowls, so ... lel. No worries, I poured and entire litre of water on my keyboard before, broke everything lol. Luckily it was some crappy office keyboard.
I would say get the Classic Death Adder now while its still on the black friday offer. Great mouse to use for FPS. If you want, you could spend more for the mamba tournament edition or even the wireless ones, those are quite good.

Why the classic editions? Chroma enabled options a) look better, and b) usually have upgraded specs. Besides, they cost just a little bit more.

Anyways, yeah Deathadder. If you click on my profile, and look at some of my other replies about mice, you can see my whole deal about optical vs. laser sensors (which surprisingly nobody really knows about on here), and all that guff. Yes, the mamba has better lights, and yes the DPI is technically higher, the Deathadder is more accurate, and is just very good in general. I own one.:D

    Hope this helps.
  8. Just "a little bit more", that's if you have the cash to spend. The classic is on offer right now and is much cheaper as compared to the chroma, if you're into lights, might as well get the mamba. And lets face it dude, who in the bleeding hell uses 10k dpi, most of us use only up to 800dpi. Keep in mind, higher dpi does not mean its less accurate. The mamba has higher dpi than any of the other death adders, but it doesn't mean its less accurate.

Ha ha, I actually use the full 10k DPI, especially for TF2, it makes rocket jumping and other stuff way easier.

The accuracy thing is related to the following: Laser sensors are known to have acceleration, even with it turned off. Optical sensors don't have this problem. I own both an optical sensor mouse (my Deathadder) and an 8.2k DPI laser sensor mouse from Perixx. Both are great, and my Perixx mouse is the mouse I use at school, as my desktop uses the Deathadder. I'm not kidding when I say that laser sensors are technically more innacurate, as the Perixx mouse doesn't preform as well as the Deathadder, and I can see myself that at 8.2k when I'm using it, there is definite acceleration. Laser sensors can be cranked up to higher DPI, but optical sensors are just plain more accurate.

Anyways, my point is this: Nobody here seems to know about what sensor a mouse uses, and nobody but me seems to care. Shopping by numbers is stupid, and un-informed. On almost all posts about "what mouse should I buy?" I will say again and again that there is a difference between laser and optical sensors, and it's not just the DPI.
