  1. Struck by this same issue today when applying the April 2018 BIOS firmware patch. My keyboard cycles through the colors but nothing appears on the screen. I've posted a youtube on this as well and reported Razer to several online consumer forums. Of course, my system is out of warranty and Razer wants me to RMA/pay for the services to fix a problem caused by their updater. This is a racket for such an expensive piece of hardware and will officially be the first and last Razer my family will ever purchase. The worst part is that before terminating my call with technical support, the representative snickered when I told him that I plan to report them to the BBB. Good luck to anyone who owns this unit.

Hey I got the same problem in my blade 14 2016!
Also called razer support and want me to ship it to them for a diagnosis but its expensive bc im now in Mexico, and also they can't send it back so I need someone to receive it on the USA.
Same issue was updating drivers, then on reboot keyboard and fans working but no display! I tried a lot of things to try to reset it but I have not found a solution, have you? can you send me your youtube video, mine is here:
  3. Here is my video. I'm collecting evidence on this matter because it's more widespread than I expected. Been in the IT industry for over 20 years and I have never heard of a firmware patch that has caused this much trouble.

If there are enough people, this may warrant a class action lawsuit. Similar thing happened with Dell with their 42" Plasma screen where immediately after their 1 year warranty, the power board shorted out. They wanted people to pay for the repair and it ended up in a class action lawsuit.
  4. Here is a photo I took of the BIOS upgrade error. In my case, I ran the upgrade from Windows, then the system rebooted and launched BIOS. It came to the setup utility but there was nothing in there originally (personally I never seen this before)-nore was BIOS upgraded. Windows wouldn't load either so I rebooted the system and reset the BIOS settings to the default settings and rebooted. On the third reboot I returned to BIOS and noticed that the setup utility had a pending BIOS firmware update (recovery) so I ran it and got a failure. After that, I pressed a key to reboot the unit and it was bricked.

Hmm, I tried several times bios update on my old blade 14 (even moding and reflashing again), stealth 2016 and current blade 15, screen jump to bios display I think this is first time I see that. Is there any Fans activity on that light up keyboard condition, and did you also try to use external monitor to output? hopefully not mobo issue, maybe software like files that is deleted by update process or maybe display output issue.
  6. Yep, tried it all. I appreciate the feedback, but unless you have the exact unit, you are comparing apples to oranges. This issue seems highly isolated to this specific unit.

Sorry for that most probably mobo defect than. Yes I’ve no experience with Blade Pro almost bought similar model with you from Amazon back then and take a look a lot users lounge in several forums. Idk about this bios issue but I maybe know several potential issues. It is expensive laptop, unlike my units, I would highly recommend to send it to them even you have to pay the diagnosis, it’s around €120 here but compared to what you spent it’s like Apple and orange (Sorry if I use this wrong), Razer should take repair expenses if it is really proven that related bios update was the culprit. Note mobo defect isn’t only Blade Pro issue, it’s known issue on thin light categories gaming laptops due heat and overheating parts inside. Things happen after a year or more, really feel sorry but again I would let it be checked by the professional, maybe it would different than you and we thought. It’s like let car check after long usage, if the repair cost is really high you can take it back or negotiate the price.

Hi there! This is not the support experience that we want for you. Can you PM me the case number so I can take a look? I'll see what I can do. Please include the link to this post as well.
